Cousins (illness) has been upgraded to probable to play Thursday against Milwaukee.

Barring a setback, it appears Cousins will return to the lineup after a 10-game absence brought on by a case of meningitis. He'll be welcomed back with open arms, as the Kings, who once looked like a dark horse playoff contender, have gone just 2-8 without Cousins. The big man has been practicing in full of late, and it's not clear whether interim coach Tyrone Corbin will place him on a minutes restriction.

Cousins (illness) is questionable for Thursday's matchup against the Bucks, Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports reports.

Cousins hasn't seen the court since Nov. 26, but it looks as if he has a 50-50 chance to make his return Thursday night. He had owned double-digit scoring and rebounding averages prior to being diagnosed with a viral infection, and if he's healthy enough to go Thursday, he could be poised for a big game against a decimated Milwaukee front court.

Cousins (illness) practiced again Wednesday and could return Thursday against the Bucks, James Ham of Cowbell Kingdom reports.

The Kings have brought Cousins along slowly since his bout with meningitis, and if he is cleared to play Thursday, he'll be on a minutes restriction as he works back into NBA shape. Just what that restriction could be remains to be seen, but it's unlikely he sees a full complement of minutes until he has a couple of games under his belt.

Cousins is still without a definite timetable for return from viral meningitis, although the fact that he was on the court Friday is a step in the right direction. With that in mind, he should still be considered out until the Kings say otherwise.

Cousins (illness) is "out indefinitely," the Cowbell Kingdom reports. On Monday, coach Mike Malone said, "We have no idea when he'll be back."

Over the weekend, the Kings announced that Cousins will miss at least the upcoming week of games, but now his next appearance is in doubt due to his continued recovery from viral meningitis. As long as he's sidelined, Ryan Hollins is expected to cover center in the starting lineup.
