DeMarcus Cousins PF/C SAC 3 Days

Cousins (Achilles) returned to action Saturday against Maccabi Haifa.

Cousins returned to the court after missing Wednesday's exhibition game with soreness in his Achilles. The issue doesn't look to be anything serious and is likely a product of his extensive work with Team USA at the end of the summer. He was limited to 26 minutes Saturday, finishing with 15 points (4-11 FG, 7-12 FT), 12 rebounds, two blocks and a steal in addition to a game-high nine turnovers.

Cousins (Achilles) is expected to play in Saturday's exhibition game, James Ham of Cowbell Kingdom reports.

Cousins has been dealing with tendinitis in his Achilles but it apparently isn't hampering him enough to sit out Saturday. A large workload for Team USA during the offseason may have caused Cousins some fatigue, so he may ultimately be on a rehab schedule with the rest of the preseason. With that in mind, Cousins has until Oct. 29 to figure out the right balance between rest and reps before the Kings start their regular season against the Warriors.

Cousins sat out Wednesday's preseason game against the Nets with bilateral soreness in his Achilles, the Kings' official site reports.

Cousins has been reported to be experiencing some level of burnout as a result of playing with Team USA this summer and transitioning almost seamlessly into training camp without many days for rest. With that in mind, getting Cousins rest during the preseason may be more important than getting him the reps that he already had with Team USA. We're not devaluing Cousins based on his extra work load this summer at this time, but we're keeping a close on stories of his health in case something more concrete is revealed. The Kings' next preseason game is back stateside Saturday against Maccabi Haifa.

Cousins (knee) participated in all of Team USA practice Tuesday, NBA.com reports.

Cousins, who missed Saturday's friendly versus Brazil, remains on track to play in Wednesday's exhibition against the Dominican Republic. While he may not be at 100 percent, the bone bruise in his knee has healed to the point that he's no longer hampered. The big man remains in competition with Mason Plumlee and Andre Drummond for a spot on the final roster that will head to Spain for the FIBA World Cup, which begins August 30.

Cousins (knee) is expected to play in Wednesday's game against the Dominican Republic, Sean Cunningham of News10 Sacramento reports.

This is obviously good news for Cousins, since it means he should be fully healthy by the time the NBA season rolls around. He has a good chance of making the final roster for Team USA for the FIBA Basketball World Cup, but it's still a good idea to keep an eye on him moving forward to make sure his knee isn't bothering him.

Cousins has been diagnosed with a bone bruise in his right knee, leaving him day-to-day, CSN Chicago reports.

Cousins injured the knee during Thursday's practice with Team USA, which spurred an MRI to learn the extent of the injury. He's already been ruled out for Saturday's warmup against Brazil, and any further time away from the court could hinder his chances of making the final roster for the upcoming Basketball World Cup. In any case, his absence aids the prospects of Andre Drummond and Mason Plumlee behind starting center Anthony Davis.

Cousins (knee) will undergo an MRI and will not play in Team USA's exhibition against Brazil on Saturday, Cowbell Kingdom reports.

Cousins left Team USA practice with an undisclosed knee injury and received treatment on the sidelines. He left practice under his own power, and the MRI is believed to be mostly precautionary. Regardless, Team USA will not rush Cousins back and more will be known following the MRI. Without Cousins in action Saturday, Andre Drummond and Mason Plumlee should see increased action.

Cousins suffered a right knee injury while practicing with Team USA on Thursday, Yahoo! Sports reports.

While the extent of the injury is not yet known, Cousins had to be helped off the floor. He underwent treatment on the sideline and was seen icing the knee. That would seem to suggest it's nothing overly serious, but an update from Team USA should be forthcoming. If it turns out to be something that will keep him sidelined for an extended period of time, both Andre Drummond and Mason Plumlee's chances of making the FIBA World Cup team increase.

DeMarcus Cousins was bothered by a sore left quad on Tuesday, but it didn't prevent him from practicing with Team USA for the second straight day.

Cousins is reportedly "obsessed" with making the team, and his enthusiasm has earned him praise from coach Mike Krzyzewski and other Team USA officials. The quad injury doesn't sound serious and Cousins has a very good chance of making the final 12-man roster given the scanty big men available in the absence of LaMarcus Aldridge, Kevin Love and Blake Griffin.

DeMarcus Cousins has positioned himself to make the cut for Team USA's World Cup of Basketball roster.

Cousins has dedicated himself to making Team USA's roster during this month's training camp and has been getting rave reviews from Team USA officials. "We love the fact he's committed. He's trying like crazy," Team USA coach Mike Krzyzewski said. "That level of commitment is not just to be admired, it needs to be talked about." If Cousins can translate this dedication to the 2014-15 NBA season, he could position himself as a Top 15 fantasy player.
