Former Lakers forward Derrick Caracter is reportedly headed to Rio Grande of the D-League.

Caracter, who underwent knee surgery in December, was waived by the Lakers earlier this month. The 2010 second-round pick averaged 2.1 points for the Lakers last season.

There's no timetable on his return, but the pending signing of Josh McRoberts just became a lot more meaningful. The Lakers are already reeling from the loss of Lamar Odom to Dallas, and are very thin at power forward.
