Young (knee) will not play Friday against Cleveland and is doubtful to play Sunday against the Lakers, Andy Vasquez of The Record reports.

Young hyperextended his knee Wednesday day and had to be helped off the court. While it's nothing that will keep him out long-term, he could miss a handful of games as the Nets battle for a playoff spot in the East. In his absence Bojan Bogdanovic figures to pick up some extra minutes.

Young hyperextended his left knee during Wednesday's game against the Hornets, Mike Mazzeo of ESPN reports.

Young departed in the third quarter after scoring 11 points (5-12 FG) to go with four rebounds and an assist in 23 minutes. The Nets have not offered anything in the way of a recovery timeline, but an update is expected Thursday.

Young scored 10 points (4-14 FG, 1-2 3Pt)) and had six rebounds in Tuesday's loss to the Pelicans.

Young, like many of his teammates, had a rough night, but he was able to provide six rebounds and a pair of assists to lessen the blow. He logged 27 minutes, which is right around where Lionel Hollins has been playing him since Young came over from Minnesota at the deadline.

Young scored 19 points (9-17 FG, 1-2 3Pt) Sunday in a loss to the Jazz in addition to picking up four steals, three rebounds and two assists in 33 minutes.

This was the second time Young has hit 19 since joining the Nets at the trade deadline. He's now scored double-digit points in three of his past four games and has at least one steal in those games as well.

Young will start in Sunday's game against the Jazz, the New York Post reports.

Young will be making his first start for Brooklyn this season. This move will ultimately push Alan Anderson out of the starting five, but Young is expected to play at power forward with Joe Johnson at small forward.

Young came off the bench during Wednesday's loss to the Pelicans, finishing with 19 points (8-12 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-4 FT) and five rebounds in 28 minutes.

Young put together his second consecutive strong showing for the Nets. Over his last two games, he's gone a combined 14-for-23 from the field and 2-for-3 from the three-point line to score 34 points. His minutes have also continued to increase, as he becomes more and more acquainted with his new team. With how well he's playing, it wouldn't be surprising to see him crack the starting lineup in the near future, so his fantasy value could continue to rise.

He finished with eight points (4-8 FG), four rebounds, one assist, and one steal.Young saw well below his season average of 33 minutes per game Friday but there's nothing to be concerned about since he's still adjusting to his new team in Brooklyn. In fact, it may take another couple of games before Young is given a full workload. Additionally, it would be somewhat surprising if the 26-year-old didn't move into the starting lineup over Mason Plumlee in short order.

However, he this setup will likely be temporary, as Young will likely be part of the starting lineup, with Plumlee moving to a bench role.

The Nets have Saturday and Sunday off, so Young was never likely to play before Monday. He'll likely replace Garnett in the starting lineup, but the Nets could also opt to bring Young off the bench, with Brook Lopez then starting next to Mason Plumlee.
