Lou Williams G ATL 2 Days
Lou Williams played just 17 minutes and hit 1-of-5 shots for three points, four rebounds, two assists, a steal and a 3-pointer in Wednesday's win over the Clippers.
It's been a slow roll for Williams since his return from knee surgery and it looks like it's going to take him some time to get back in a groove. Hold him if you want, but he's going to likely miss one of back-to-back games and simply isn't doing enough to be considered a must-own fantasy player.
Lou Williams G ATL 4 Days
Lou Williams played 27 minutes against the Spurs on Monday with 10 points, four boards, one steal and one block.
He shot 5-of-14 from the field and missed all six shots from downtown. Williams' 27 minutes and 14 shot attempts were season highs, so it looks like his minutes and usage rates are on the rise. The Hawks only have two back-to-back sets until Jan. 3, so Williams might be able to build some value. He's still not going to offer too much upside since the Hawks are unlikely to unleash him one year after his ACL tear.
Lou Williams G ATL 6 Days
Lou Williams (knee) will not play on Saturday as a precaution.
The Hawks are playing the second game of a back-to-back set, so as expected Williams will get the night off. He started on Friday and posted 12 points with two assists and one block in 25 minutes, but these sporadic DNPs are doing his fantasy owners no favors. He'll be back in the lineup at San Antonio on Monday, and the good news is that Atlanta only has one back-to-back set in December.
Lou Williams G ATL 6 Days
Lou Williams (knee, rest) returned to action in Friday's win over the Mavs, scoring a season-high 12 points on 4-of-8 shooting (including a three) with two rebounds, two assists and one block in 25 minutes.
The Hawks play Saturday against the Wizards, and we'll be marking Williams questionable for that game until we hear otherwise, but after that there is just one back-to-back for the entire month of December. It looks like he's just about ready to be deployed normally, and traditionally that equals a mid-round value in return for owners. He could falter with the knee issue and be more of a late-round value, but he shouldn't be left on any waiver wires with that type of upside in a shallow backcourt.
Lou Williams G ATL 7 Days
Lou Williams will start at guard for the Hawks in Friday's matchup against the Mavericks and is still on a minutes restriction.
Jeff Teague was shut down on Wednesday by Patrick Beverley and the Hawks will go with a lineup of two point guards. Cartier Martin would likely be bumped to the bench while DeMarre Carroll continues to start at small forward. It would appear Williams is going to play more than his season-high 24 minutes tonight.
Lou Williams G ATL 10 Days
Lou Williams played a season-high 24 minutes against the Magic on Tuesday with 11 points, three rebounds, eight assists and three 3-pointers.
He looked a lot better and Shelvin Mack going down with a sprained ankle allowed him to handle the ball more tonight. Excluding his debut, Williams is averaging 7.7 points, 5.0 assists and 1.3 triples in 19.0 minutes. He's starting to get it going, but will probably need about two more weeks before he's scoring in double figures consistently.
Lou Williams G ATL 11 Days
Lou Williams will play again on Monday.
It will be his third game of the season and he played just 18 minutes in his second game on Saturday. Williams is going to take a while to get it going after his ACL reconstruction, so those that picked him up in fantasy leagues will have to remain patient for at least a few weeks.
