Blake will sign a contract with the Sydney Kings of the Australian National Basketball League, Marc Stein of ESPN.com reports.

Blake has been determined to keep his playing career going, but after gaining little traction from NBA teams this offseason, he'll be forced to head overseas to find work. It's quite likely that his days in the NBA are over.

The move simply helped facilitate the team's signing of center Boban Marjanovic, and doesn't necessarily indicate the Pistons aren't interested in bringing Blake back. After serving as the primary backup to Reggie Jackson at point guard last season, Blake could be re-signed if he's willing to accept a third-string role. The Pistons signed Ish Smith to a three-year, $18 million deal earlier this offseason, and he'll now be in line to serve as Jackson's top understudy.

Blake scored 10 points (4-7 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT) while adding seven assists, one rebound, and one steal in 32 minutes during the Pistons' 99-93 loss to the Heat on Tuesday.

Blake started in place of Reggie Jackson (abdominal, rest) on Tuesday, and seems fairly likely to draw another start in Wednesday's season finale versus the Cavaliers. The Pistons are locked into a matchup with the Cavaliers in round one of the playoffs, at which point Blake will return to his regular role off the bench.

Blake will start in Tuesday's game against the Heat, radio announcer Jake Chapman reports.

Blake is starting due to Reggie Jackson (abdominal) being rested. With Detroit's playoff position locked down the team is likely resting Jackson as a precautionary measure. Blake will likely see a large increase in minutes while Jackson is out. Blake will return to the bench as soon as Jackson returns.

Blake totaled three points (1-3 FG, 1-3 3Pt), six assists, and two rebounds in 16 minutes during the Pistons' 108-104 win against the Magic on Wednesday.

EDGE Analysis

Blake averaged 3.6 points and 3.7 assists in 19 minutes per game during March, and through four games in April he is turning in 4.3 points and 4.5 dimes in 15 minutes. Reggie Jackson has been struggling with his shot since the All-Star break, and Blake has been steady when called upon. With that being said, he is merely a modest option in deeper leagues.

Blake contributed six points (3-5 FG, 0-2 3Pt), two rebounds, and two assists in 18 minutes during the Pistons' 118-114 loss to the Hawks on Wednesday.

EDGE Analysis

Blake is averaging 5.8 points, 2.6 assists, and 1.5 rebounds in 19 minutes per contest during eight games in March. Spencer Dinwiddie (ankle) was available to play, but coach Stan Van Gundy didn't call his number. It's possible Dinwiddie eats away at some of Blake's minutes at some point going forward, but Blake does appear to have the backup point guard job on lock for now.

Blake had 10 points (2-3 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 4-4 FT) and five assists in 20 minutes during the Pistons' 114-101 win over the Raptors on Sunday.

Blake committed five turnovers and two fouls in this one, but he did a decent job of running the second unit. With Spencer Dinwiddie (ankle) injured and Brandon Jennings in Orlando, the backup point guard job is Blake's to lose.

Blake saw more time than usual with Reggie Jackson ill and Brandon Jennings earning the spot start. Blake hadn't seen the floor since Jan. 16 versus the Warriors, and he has only played in three games since the turn of the new year after making 27 appearances through October, November, and December.

Blake (coach's decision) didn't play in Wednesday's 123-114 victory over the Rockets.

Brandon Jennings (Achilles) hasn't been forced to miss any games since making his season debut Dec. 29, which has resulted in Blake's minutes disappearing almost entirely. Blake has played just twice in the 11 games that Jennings has been active, and will continue to go ignored off the bench while he serves as the team's third-string point guard behind Reggie Jackson and Jennings.

Blake scored a season-high 12 points (4-5 FG, 4-5 3Pt) to go with two boards and two assists across 17 minutes in Tuesday's 93-92 win over the Pistons.

EDGE Analysis

It was just the third time all season Blake reached double figures in the scoring column. He's been consistently seeing minutes in the teens behind Reggie Jackson all season, but Blake's marginal role will likely diminish almost entirely when Brandon Jennings (Achilles) returns to action. Jennings is targeting the Dec. 29 game against the Knicks for his season debut.
