Westbrook (hand) will start Friday against the Knicks and won't be limited by a minute restriction, The Oklahoman reports.

Westbrook has only played two games for the Thunder this season but appears to be healthy enough to take on a full workload Friday. His reinsertion into the starting lineup will push Reggie Jackson to the bench. Despite the long time away from the court, Westbrook should be deployed in all formats moving forward.

Westbrook (hand) could return to the lineup as early as Friday against the Knicks, The Oklahoman's Darnell Mayberry reports. "I don't know," coach Scott Brooks said when asked if a target date of Friday is too early. "I just focus on his work that he put in today and just continue to build off that. He will get evaluated later on this week and then we can make some of those decisions later on."

It seems like a bit of a long shot that Westbrook could return this week, but he has a history of beating timetables on injuries in the past. Westbrook, along with Kevin Durant, took part in most of the contact drills during Monday's practice, marking the first time that has happened for both players. In the meantime, Reggie Jackson continues to be a fantasy force with Westbrook out.

Westbrook (hand) participated in most of Monday's practice, including some of the contact drills, the Oklahoman's Anthony Slater reports.

This is the first time Westbrook has taken part in the contact portion of practice, which is a significant step forward. Westbrook has beat timetables of previous injuries, so it would not be a surprise to see him return to game action in the near future. Meanwhile, Reggie Jackson is having an amazing season as the starter, and is a must-start until Westbrook returns.

Westbrook (hand) took part in some non-contact portions of practice Saturday, The Oklahoman reports. "They looked good," said Thunder coach Scott Brooks, referring to both Westbrook and Kevin Durant. "They've been with the group the whole time, but (Saturday) was the first day they've actually participated in some of the drills. It wasn't the entire practice."

Westbrook is set to be re-evaluated next weekend, at which point a firmer return timetable should be available. Coach Scott Brooks declined to say whether he'll ease the point guard back into the rotation, but that was the case last season when Westbrook returned from a knee injury. 'We haven't even got to that point yet," Brooks said. "They're still in the rehab process of getting back to being able to play. The minute restriction, we're not focused on that area yet. We're just focused on getting them back and getting them ready to play."

Westbrook (hand) will most likely go through the non-contact part of practice Saturday, the Oklahoman reports.

Westbrook, like fellow superstar Kevin Durant, will probably attempt to practice with the team Saturday, but only in the non-contact drills. Considering he's limited to non-contact portions of practice, it's clear he'll still be out for a good chunk of time, but either way it's a step in the right direction and evidence that he's progressing in his recovery from his surgically repaired right hand. He should be re-evaluated again in the coming week or two.

Westbrook (hand) was shooting with his surgically repaired right hand during Tuesday's shootaround, Darnell Mayberry of The Oklahoman reports.

Westbrook is still more than a week away from being reevaluated after undergoing surgery on Nov. 1, but the fact that he's already able to shoot without issue is certainly encouraging. More will be known when he's assessed at the end of the month, and the Thunder are expected to provide a return timetable at that time.

Westbrook underwent successful surgery Saturday to address a fracture in the second metacarpal in his right hand, and will be reevaluated in four weeks.

A further update on Westbrook's timetable will be given in four weeks, but look for the team to be pretty cautious in the handling of Westbrook following the surgery. He could miss a couple months, and in the meantime, Reggie Jackson and Sebastian Telfair will get all of the minutes at point guard.

Westbrook (hand) is considering having surgery after undergoing further evaluation from outside consultants Friday, The Oklahoman reports.

Westbrook's timetable for recovery could be pushed back a bit if he does elect to undergo the surgery. The Thunder reportedly have a history of being cautious when approaching injuries, suggesting Westbrook will more than likely have the procedure. Reggie Jackson and Sebastian Telfair are expected to receive substantial minutes at point guard in his absence.

Westbrook (broken hand) will miss four-to-six weeks, the Oklahoman's Anthony Slater reports.

It's a similar injury to what Rajon Rondo suffered, and Rondo was able to return in four weeks after originally having a six-week timetable, so there's hope for Westbrook's owners that he will only be out a month. In the meantime, the Thunder's remaining rag-tag backcourt crew featuring a banged up Reggie Jackson (ankle) and Sebastian Telfair will attempt to fill the large portion of the offense vacated by Westbrook. Don't look for Westbrook to have the same value owners expected when they drafted him, as he is now on the same timetable as Kevin Durant, so he will likely be the second option for most of his remaining games this season.

Westbrook has a small fracture in his right hand, the Oklahoman reports.

No timetable has been announced as of yet, but Rajon Rondo recently suffered a broken hand and was expected to miss six weeks of action after undergoing surgery. Rondo was able to return in just over four weeks, so until there's an official announcement on how long Westbrook will be out, managers should hold onto him. In the mean time, as long as Westbrook is sidelined, Reggie Jackson (ankle) should be a big part of the Thunder's offense. Unfortunately, Jackson is also sidelined with an injury at the moment, leaving Sebastian Telfair as the only healthy point guard on the roster at the moment.
