Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant each scored 29 points in Wednesday's Game 2 win over the Rockets.

Westbrook had to deal with little known Patrick Beverley all night, as Beverley had a big game got into Westbrook's head, pushing the Thunder to the brink in the 105-102 win. Westbrook hit just 10-of-26 shots and 1-of-7 3-pointers, while Durant hit 10-of-25 shots, two 3-pointers and committed just one turnover on the night. Durant had 15 in the first quarter, but went scoreless in the fourth quarter until the game's final two minutes, when Thabo Sefolosha hit a 3-pointer, and Serge Ibaka knocked down an 18-footer to help secure the win for OKC.

Russell Westbrook had 19 points, eight rebounds, 10 assists, two steals and a 3-pointer on 7-of-15 shooting as the Thunder crushed the Rockets 120-91 in Game 1 on Sunday.

Westbrook was great tonight, and looked like the fastest player in the league, while Kevin Durant came through with 24 points and a full stat line in the easy win. The Thunder should have no problem disposing of the Rockets in Round 1.

Coach Scott Brooks confirmed Russell Westbrook will only play seven to eight minutes Wednesday night.

Brooks said Tuesday this was an option for Westbrook so it's not surprising at all. Kevin Durant isn't even playing in Wednesday's regular-season finale, ceding the scoring title to Carmelo Anthony while resting for the postseason. Reggie Jackson should get a ton of run tonight and is definitely worth a look as a spot-start option.

Coach Scott Brooks said Russell Westbook may only play 6-10 minutes in Wednesday's regular-season finale.

We'd expect the same kind of workload -- or less -- for Kevin Durant, Serge Ibaka and Kevin Martin. The Thunder have the West's No. 1 seed locked up and can not catch the Heat for home-court advantage in a potential Finals rematch. Westbrook's consecutive games played streak will continue to a remarkable 394 outings, but talented backup Reggie Jackson is a far better fantasy option.

Despite Scott Brooks suggesting he'd rest his starters on Wednesday, beat writer Darnell Mayberry believes Russell Westbrook will play.

Westbrook has never missed a game in his NBA career and has never shown any indication that he'd welcome sitting out voluntarily, so Brooks may have to fight Westbrook to limit him in the last game of the regular season. OKC has the top seed locked up in the Western Conference, so even if he plays, don't expect it to be for very long, likely 20-25 minutes. The same can be said of guys like Kevin Durant and Serge Ibaka if they suit up.

Russell Westbrook scored 21 points with five rebounds, eight assists and three steals before being ejected for his second technical foul, but the Thunder still beat the Kings by the score of 104-95 on Monday.

The Thunder also clinched the top seed in the West and Scott Brooks said his starters wouldn't play much in the finale. Give guys like Reggie Jackson, Daniel Orton, and Ronnie Brewer a look if you're hunting scrubs for the silly season.

Russell Westbrook was his usual wild self in Thursday's win over the Warriors, scoring 18 points with three boards, nine assists, two blocks, one 3-pointer and six turnovers in 30 minutes.

He had five turnovers in the first half and Russell isn't going to change his style in the near future. He ranks second in the league in total fastbreak points and ninth in points in the paint, which is amazing considering no other point guard ranks in the top 21. Whether you like him or not, he's one of the best players in the league.
