Russell Westbrook had a horrible showing in Game 2's loss to the Spurs on Wednesday, making 7-of-24 from the field for 15 points with five boards, five assists, two steals and one 3-pointer.

You live by the Russ, you die by the Russ. He kept taking bad shots and was gambling too often on defense. Westbrook has been so ball dominate when on the court lately that it might not be a bad idea to play him when Kevin Durant needs a rest. Westbrook played 36 minutes with 34 minutes next to Durant in Game 1 while tonight just three of his 29 minutes were not next to KD. It wouldn't make sense almost any other time, but the lineups used without KD and Westy are just that bad. Yes, desperate times call for desperate measures.

Russell Westbrook double-doubled in Thursday's win over the Clippers with 19 points, three rebounds, 12 assists, two steals and five turnovers in 39 minutes.

He shot 4-of-15 from the field tonight and missed all four shots from deep, but he did a great job spreading the ball around. The Thunder are now 8-2 in playoff games when Westbrook puts up a double-double with points and assists, so he's just as dangerous as a passer as a scorer. One of these days everyone is going to get off his back and recognize he's one of the best players in the NBA.

OKC's Russell Westbrook hit 11-of-23 shots and two 3-pointers for 38 points, five rebounds, six assists and three steals in Tuesday's amazing comeback win over the Clippers to take a 3-2 lead in their series.

Westbrook took a very shaky 3-point shot with the game on the line, which he missed badly, but it was ruled that Westbrook was fouled by Chris Paul. Westbrook hit all three free throws, and then the Thunder were given the ball with 11.3 seconds left after a replay official gave the ball to OKC, when it (appeared to) clearly go off OKC's Reggie Jackson. CP3 turned the ball over too much late, Jamal Crawford took too many ill-advised shots, and the Clippers were simply not prepared for their last possession (thinking it would be their ball), when Paul lost the ball on the last possession and the Thunder snuck away with the improbable win. The Thunder were down by 13 points with 1.5 minutes left in the game, and somehow came out with the win. It will be interesting to see what the NBA says about this one after reviewing all the tape, while the Thunder went on a 17-3 run to take the game. Game 6 is in Los Angeles on Thursday.

Russell Westbrook on Monday blamed the Thunder's Game 4 collapse on the team relaxing down the stretch.

"You can go to Xs and Os and all that stuff but we just relaxed," he said. The Thunder's largest lead of the game was 22, including a 16 point advantage in the fourth quarter. The Clippers managed to outscore the Thunder 38-24 in the final frame, tying the series at two games each. Westbrook took 10 shots during the quarter, equal to the amount of the rest of OKC combined.

Russell Westbrook logged his third triple-double of the 2014 playoffs during Wednesday's 112-101 win, scoring 31 points with 10 boards, 10 assists, three steals and two 3-pointers.

In true Westbrook fashion, his triple-double is a bit questionable because his last assist probably shouldn't have been scored as one. Still, Westbrook was awesome tonight and the Clippers just couldn't contain him out of the post. No other player in the NBA has a triple-double during these playoffs and Westbrook just continues to make the case as one of the best stat-stuffing players in the NBA.

Russell Westbrook shot 9-of-14 from the field for 29 points during Game 1's loss to the Clippers to go with four boards, four assists, two 3-pointers and six turnovers.

The turnovers are an issue and Westbrook wasn't quite with it on the defensive end. Westbrook now has 5.6 turnovers per game over his last five with averages of 25.2 points, 8.4 boards, 9.0 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.4 triples in that span. He's filling up the stat sheet, but Chris Paul showed him a thing or two about being an elite point guard.

The good Russell Westbrook showed up in Game 7's 120-109 victory over the Grizzlies with 27 points, 10 boards, 16 assists, two steals, one block and two 3-pointers on 10-of-16 from the field.

He joined Rajon Rondo as the only player in NBA history to have two triple-doubles in Game 7s. Westbrook only taking 16 shots and turning in that kind of efficiency wasn't the story coming into this game, making just 35.6 percent of his 24.8 attempts in the previous six games. His 16 dimes served as a playoff career high and this may have been one of his best games ever -- seven turnovers notwithstanding. If he plays like this in the next round, OKC will be very tough to beat.

Russell Westbrook made 9-of-21 from the field for 25 points against the Grizzlies on Thursday with nine boards, five assists, three steals and one 3-pointer in 39 minutes.

Coach Scott Brooks changed his rotations around a bit tonight and it worked out in the win. Westbrook's minutes have really jumped up in the past five with 42.6 per game, averaging 25.8 points, 9.6 boards, 7.0 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.6 triples in that span. Reggie Jackson anchored the second unit with 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting, and his improved play may have allowed Brooks to tweak things tonight. Game 7 on Saturday night should be fun.

Russell Westbrook triple-doubled in Tuesday's 100-99 loss to the Grizzlies, scoring 30 points with 10 boards, 13 assists, one steal, one block and one 3-pointer in 48 minutes.

He shot 10-of-31 from the field and his shot just wasn't falling. Westbrook shot at least 30 shots in five previous games, three of which came in the playoffs. He loves the spotlight and he had one of the biggest plays of the game with a steal of Mike Conley to tie the game near the end of regulation, but he does have his share of bad plays.

Russell Westbrook played through his sore knee on Saturday, but hit just 6-of-24 shots for 15 points, nine rebounds, seven assists, three steals, a block, a 3-pointer and seven turnovers in an overtime win against the Grizzlies.

The series is tied at 2-2 and Westbrook's knee looked OK tonight, even though his shot wasn't falling. Reggie Jackson carried the Thunder, but look for Westbrook to bounce back on Tuesday when the Thunder look to take a 3-2 lead at home.
