West could see an expanded role in 2014-15, as the Pacers intend to place a greater emphasis on running their offense through him and center Roy Hibbert, the Indianapolis Star reports.

West already had a significant role last season, averaging 31 minutes and 14.0 points over 80 games started. However, the Pacers are preparing for a 2014-15 campaign without All-Star Paul George, leaving West with potentially more opportunities to contribute on the offensive end. The team will be without both George's 21.7 points per game, and Lance Stephenson's 13.8 scoring average, so they will look for new scoring options in any way possible. Like any other fantasy asset on the Pacers, West's value is set to increase as the team attempts to compensate for the loss of their superstar.

David West said after practice on Thursday that his scratched eye is "alright".

With teammate Paul George's status still up in the air, it is encouraging news that there is little doubt surrounding West. His eye was checked by the team's ophthalmologist on Wednesday and was given clearance to practice. He only managed 10 points in the Pacers' Game 2 loss on Tuesday and was clearly bothered by his scratched eye in the fourth quarter.

David West (eye) doesn't plan to wear goggles and he expects to be fine for Saturday's Game 3 in Miami.

West cooled off with 10 points on 5-of-16 shooting during Tuesday's loss, adding six rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block. "We didn't close this one the right way," he said. "I thought we had a chance to [win] and key turnovers at bad moments got away from us." We're leaving West off the injury report and will update his status if he's in any danger of sitting out on Saturday.

David West hit just 5-of-16 shots for 10 points, six rebounds, four assists, a steal and a block in Tuesday's Game 2 lost to the Heat.

West got poked in the eye and was clearly in discomfort for much of the fourth quarter, but was able to play through it. He's one of the league's tough guys, and he would probably have to lose an eye to actually miss a game. The Pacers bench was weak tonight, as Luis Scola and C.J. Watson combined to hit just 1-of-10 shots for two points on the night. The Heat's bench was much more effective, and the Pacers will look to get more out of their reserves, and better play from West and Paul George, going forward.

David West put the Pacers on his back during a series-clinching win over the Wizards on Thursday, making 13-of-26 from the field for 29 points with six boards, four assists and one turnover in 38 minutes.

He basically was the offense in the second half. "That's all David West. He settled us down at that point," coach Frank Vogel said. "We're lucky to have David West." The Pacers have lost their composure throughout this series, so it made plenty of sense to lean on their veteran to get the win. He'll look to keep up the momentum in the next round vs. the Miami Heat.

David West had 17 points and six rebounds in Tuesday's ugly 102-79 Game 5 home loss to the Wizards.

The Wizards are still down 3-2, but have a chance to even the series and force a Game 7 back in Indy with a home win on Thursday. Paul George was the only other Pacer in double figures with 15 points, three 3-pointers, one rebound, two assists, two steals and a block on 5-of-15 shooting, as the Pacers looked lost on nearly every possession tonight, on both ends of the floor. Roy Hibbert crawled back into his hole after playing well in a couple games, finishing with just four points, two rebounds and a block, and also stood by as Marcin Gortat went nuts with 31 points and 16 boards in the cake walk. The Pacers have played 12 games in these playoffs, and the home team has won just four of them.

David West scored half of his 24 points in the fourth quarter of Thursday's 95-88 win over the Hawks with 11 boards, six assists, two steals and one turnover.

He was the closer tonight and took terrific shots all game. West's perimeter game is among the best among the Eastern Conference power forwards and he was able to beat guys off the dribble quite a bit tonight. He's scored at least 16 points in each of the last four and the Pacers will need him in Game 7 on Saturday.

David West (rest) will not play in Wednesday's road game vs. the Magic, and Luis Scola will take his spot in the starting lineup.

The Pacers have a 35-6 record at home this season but they're just 20-20 on the road, so they're fortunate to have home-court advantage throughout the Eastern Conference playoffs. West will be rested and ready for Indiana's first round matchup with the Hawks.

David West scored 18 points on 7-of-13 shooting with eight rebounds and one block on Friday.

West was productive but continues to be slow on defense and he's not exactly creating offense for anybody else. As long as he's in the Pacers' lineup, he should probably be in yours.

David West will be rested for Wednesday's game vs. the Bucks.

The Pacers will try to snap a six-game road losing streak without all five of their starters, and Milwaukee is the best place to try such a thing. Veteran PF Luis Scola will move into the starting lineup temporarily, but West is expected to return for Friday's key matchup vs. the Heat.
