West (ankle) participated in light practice activities Friday.
West is looking to make his season debut sometime in the next week or two, and it's a good sign he's at least participating in practice in a limited fashion. The Pacers have games on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday next week, so we'll see if he can give it a go for one of those matchups.

West (ankle) is slated to miss at least three more games.
West is yet to play this season as he continues to nurse what looks to be a rather serious ankle sprain. The Pacers' next three games come Wednesday (Charlotte), Saturday (Phoenix) and Monday (Dallas), so if that timetable holds up, West's next chance to play will be next Wednesday (Nov. 26) versus San Antonio. Expect to continue to see more of Chris Copeland and Luis Scola so long as West remains out.

West (ankle) will not play Friday.
He has yet to make his season debut, and should be considered day-to-day going forward, although the Pacers have shown little urgency in getting their injured players back on the court this season.

West (ankle) will remain out Wednesday.
There is a chance West could return Friday, but owners should take a pessimistic approach with all of the Pacers' injured players, as the team has no incentive to rush them back. Luis Scola will continue to benefit from West's absence.

West (ankle) has been ruled out for at least another week.
West is still experiencing pain in his ankle, and it's severe enough that the team's medical staff has already ruled him out for the upcoming week. That means West will miss at least four more games, as the Pacers face the Bucks (Tuesday), Wizards (Wednesday), Celtics (Friday) and Wizards (again, Saturday) in the coming days. West will likely be re-evaluated over the weekend in advance of next Monday's matchup with the Jazz. Expect Luis Scola and Chris Copeland to continue to see increased run in West's stead.

West (ankle) will miss at least the first three games of the regular season.
He had hoped to be ready for the start of the season, but this shouldn't be a huge surprise, considering how serious the ankle sprain was. Luis Scola figures to start at power forward for the Pacers in the first three games, and West will be reevaluated prior to the Nov. 4 game against Milwaukee.

It sounds like he's dealing with a pretty serious ankle sprain, and was wearing a walking boot and using a cane Monday, but West's optimism for the season opener is a good sign.

West suffered a severe ankle sprain in Saturday's preseason game and will miss the remainder of the preseason, the Indianapolis Star's Autumn Allison reports.
He was wearing a walking boot and using a cane at Monday's practice, saying, "I sprained it really good." It would not be surprising to see him miss a few regular season games too, although the Pacers likely won't rule him out for those until closer to the start of the season.
