Jeff Teague PG ATL 3 Hrs

Teague received an electric simulant on his left thigh prior to Saturday's game in Miami, which he's missing, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Teague was initially believed to be getting a day of rest, but instead, an ailment was the spur. Because Saturday's outing is the back end of a back-to-back, it's no surprise that Gregg Popovich protege and Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer is handing Teague a day off. Nevertheless, keep an eye on Teague's status entering Tuesday's contest against the Rockets.

Teague (rest) won't take the floor Saturday at Miami, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

With Teague, Al Horford, DeMarre Carroll, and Pero Antic all receiving the day off, Dennis Schroder will be relied upon more than normal to take on the scoring burden. In five previous starts this season, Schroder has averaged 11.6 points (on 48 percent shooting), 6.4 assists, and 2.8 rebounds in 27 minutes.

Teague (illness) was well enough to play Thursday and put up 11 points (3-9 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 4-4 FT), three rebounds, four assists, and one steal in 26 minutes.

Teague has only averaged 27 minutes per game in the Hawks' first three games back from the All-Star break, but if you're rostering him, it's probably best to hold tight with him. All three games were blowouts, making the minutes distribution a suspect reference when trying to determine Teague's value going forward. He should go back to playing his more customary 31 mpg in short order. Hold steady.

Teague (illness) will get the start Wednesday, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Chris Vivlamore reports.

Teague was considered probable to take the court Wednesday, so this should not come as a surprise. Deploy him as usual Wednesday, as the Hawks will need all hands on deck to beat the visiting Mavericks.

An illness kept Teague out of practice Tuesday and was considered questionable as of Wednesday afternoon. While he likely wont be 100 percent, the expectation is that he'll start at his usual point guard spot, barring a setback during warmups.

Teague (ankle) got the start and scored 12 points (4-7 FG,1-1 3Pt, 3-3 FT) with seven assists and three steals in 32 minutes during Monday's win over the Timberwolves. His own minor ankle sprain and a Hawks' frontcourt that was scoring almost at will on Monday combined to snap Teague's streak of games with 20 or more points at four, but he still managed to produce some useful numbers. Wednesday's tilt against the Celtics provides Al Horford and Paul Millsap with another soft defense to exploit, so don't expect Teague to start a new streak right away.

According to coach Mike Budenholzer, Teague will test out the ankle in warmups before a final determination is made. If he's ultimately held out, expect Dennis Schroder to get the start at point guard.

Teague totaled 22 points (9-13 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 3-4 FT), one rebound and six assists in 32 minutes during the Hawks' 94-88 loss versus the Grizzlies on Sunday.

During the fourth quarter Teague turned his ankle and had to be helped off the court by his teammates, but he returned rather quickly and finished the game. It was certainly a scary moment but the fact that he was able to re-enter the contest is obviously a good sign.
