The Bucks are interesting in hiring Jerry Stackhouse as an assistant.

If Stackhouse sitting with new Bucks' head coach Jason Kidd, general manager John Hammond and assistant general manager David Morway at a summer league game on Monday is any indication, the former Milwaukee fan favorite could soon be joining Kidd's staff. Stackhouse hasn't played in the NBA since the 2012-13 season and has also received interest from the Knicks and Hawks.

In a recent interview, Jerry Stackhouse stated he would like to become an NBA coach.

"I'd like to coach at the pro level," Stackhouse said. "I had some dialogue with Atlanta last summer... I met with Phil [Jackson] a couple weeks ago about possibly about doing something with their staff... [But] I think [Jackson] is still figuring it out. He doesn't know who the head coach is going to be, but I think after that is settled, there could be some realistic possibilities." While Stack would like to eventually be a head coach, he wouldn't mind paying his dues as an assistant, even at the college or high school level.

Jerry Stackhouse said he talked with Phil Jackson about joining the Knicks staff.

The former All-Star, who is in Treviso coaching a group of high school players, didn't specify to what lengths he'd be involved as far as coaching is concerned. He hasn't been mentioned as a head coaching candidate so this is likely an assistant position if anything.

Stack admitted that it's possible he could get the bug to keep playing, but his days as a fantasy weapon are long gone.

Jerry Stackhouse (rest) will not play for the Nets on Sunday.

He hasn't played in a game since late December, so the idea that he's being 'rested' is pretty amusing, and it's telling that the Nets would rule him out this early on a day when Joe Johnson (heel) won't be available.
