Josh Smith didn't sound like a player ready to re-sign with the Hawks after Atlanta was eliminated Friday night.

Smith spent a lot of time after Friday's loss seemingly reminiscing about his time in Atlanta and saying he wants to "experience free agency." Of course, it probably didn't help that the Atlanta crowd booed him at times during what was possibly his last game as a member of the Hawks. Smith will likely be looking for a max contract, but it remains to be seen if there's any team enamored enough with his game to cough up that kind of money.

Josh Smith hit just 5-of-16 shots in Friday's 81-73 elimination loss in Game 6 against the Pacers, finishing with 14 points, nine rebounds, one steal and one block.

The Hawks had a 16-minute stretch in which they hit 1-of-21 shots over the second and third quarters and that was the difference tonight. Smith is likely to be overpaid by somebody in free agency and we doubt it will be the Hawks. Al Horford scored 15 points with seven boards, and Jeff Teague went cold with 10 points on 3-of-12 shooting and just two assists.

Josh Smith hit 5-of-16 shots and a 3-pointer for 14 points, five rebounds, four steals and a block as the Pacers were crushed 106-83 in Game 5 in Indianapolis on Wednesday to fall into a 3-2 hole.

Al Horford added 14 points, nine boards and a block on 5-of-14 shooting, and Jeff Teague was just 3-of-16 for seven points in the ugly loss. The Hawks continued their miserable play in Indy by shooting just 33 percent and face a must-win situation back in Atlanta on Friday night.

Josh Smith exploded in Game 4's 102-91 win over the Pacers with 29 points, 11 boards, four assists, three steals, one block and two 3-pointers in 43 minutes.

The 29 points were a career high in the postseason for J-Smoove. If it wasn't for a disastrous third quarter in which the Hawks shot 15 percent from the field, they would have run away with this game. They played terrific in the second and fourth quarters, scoring 35 and 33 in those two quarters, respectively. Smith had five shots at the rim to go with his five offensive boards and he's a real weapon when he's being aggressive. Game 5 will be back in Indiana on Wednesday.

The good Josh Smith showed up in Saturday's 90-69 win over the Pacers with 14 points, six boards, six assists, three steals and two turnovers in 31 minutes.

Only five of his 13 attempts from the field were from outside the paint and he abandoned his poor shot selection for the majority of this game. The Pacers really shot themselves in the foot today, but we now have a series with Atlanta getting one in the win column. Jeff Teague (13 points, six boards, five assists and two steals) and Devin Harris (eight points, four assists and two steals) shot a combined 6-of-26 from the field, but no other player on the Hawks that played more than four minutes shot below 40 percent tonight. Game 4 is in Atlanta on Monday.

Josh Smith (ankle) admitted to being "a little sore," but he is expected to play in Game 2.

"It's still a little sore but it's playoff time and I have to suck it up," he said. While Smoove is unlikely to be at full strength, it shouldn't be a big enough issue where it severely hampers his production unless he aggravates the injury.

Josh Smith (ankle) returned to a full practice on Tuesday.

Smith didn't practice on Monday after spraining his ankle in Game 1, but it looks like he'll be ready to play on Wednesday barring any setbacks. The Hawks need the "good" Josh Smith to show up to have a chance of stealing one in Indiana, so as long as he's able to play, we don't expect him to have any limitations.
