Lowry was held out of Sunday's practice to rest, TSN Sports reports.

The Raptors want to make sure that Lowry will be fresh for the start of the regular season, so there's nothing concerning about him missing Sunday's practice. Looking ahead, the Raptors will start their season on Oct. 29 against the Hawks and Lowry will be a major component of their offensive attack.

Lowry played 31 minutes on Friday, scoring 18 points (6-12 FG, 2-6 3P, 4-5 FT) with six assists, five steals and three rebounds.

There's no sign so far this preseason that Lowry is planning on taking it easy now that he's signed the first big free agent contract of his career. If the Raptors' point guard stays healthy, look for him to produce another excellent fantasy season.

Lowry scored 25 points (9-14 FG, 5-9 3P, 2-3 FT) with six assists and three rebounds in just 24 minutes during Tuesday's preseason game.

The Raptors' starting backcourt of Lowry and DeMar DeRozan both look ready for the regular season to begin. Coming off a career season and with a fat new contract in his back pocket, Lowry will look to take his game, and the team, to the next level.

Lowry didn't take it easy after signing the first big free agent contract of his career this offseason, and has reported to training camp in great shape, the Toronto Sun reports.

There were concerns in some circles that Lowry might go soft after cashing in, but the point guard laughed at the idea. "The worst thing is getting yourself out of shape and trying to get back in shape. Those people who thought I would do that, they're idiots. People that expected me to come back in shape, they're smart," he said. "Me, I like to work, I like to actually put work in, it's fun. I mean, this is my job." If he can stay healthy, Lowry figures to turn in another string performance as the leader of a resurgent young Raptors' roster.

Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that Kyle Lowry has agreed to a four-year, $48 million contract to stay with the Toronto Raptors.

This is a huge deal for the Raptors and also could mean that Jeremy Lin could stay with the Rockets if they don't land Carmelo Anthony. Lowry had a nice bounce-back season last year and if he can stay healthy, qualifies as an elite NBA point guard. Lowry will have the option to opt out of the fourth and final year of the deal.

Kyle Lowry is mulling contract offers from the Rockets and Raptors, according to Yahoo! Sports, and he hasn't yet committed to meeting with other teams.

The Heat are telling free agents that they have $12 million available, which could make them a real option for Lowry, but Miami's star players haven't been recruiting K-Low and the Heat are also interested in Luol Deng. The Rockets' offer for Lowry may rely on a sign-and-trade which the Raptors wouldn't assent to since they want to keep him, so at the moment Toronto seems to be in the pole position.

The Rockets are reportedly interested in a sign-and-trade deal for Kyle Lowry, but the Raptors aren't interested since they hope to re-sign him.

Lowry is an unrestricted FA who is also one of Miami's top targets in free agency, but the Raptors can offer him the most money and they're confident that he'll stay in Toronto. Lou Williams is capable of backing up both the PG and SG positions, and if Lowry does re-sign the Raptors may be less inclined to match offers for restricted FA Greivis Vasquez.

The Raptors are set to meet with free agent point guard Kyle Lowry on Tuesday in Philadelphia, Yahoo! Sports is reporting.

The Rockets, and likely several other teams, will also be meeting with Lowry, who is one of the hottest guards on the market this free agent season. The Raptors may have the inside track since he played there last season, but because the Raps can offer the most money, a return to Toronto would not be the least bit surprising.

Houston general manager Daryl Morey flew to Philadelphia to meet with free agent point guard Kyle Lowry.

Lowry returning to Houston is intriguing and it speaks to the aggressive nature of the Rockets front office, but the Raptors can offer more money and it's going to be hard for him to turn it down.

The Raptors have "undeniable confidence" in keeping free agent Kyle Lowry according ESPN.com's Marc Stein.

It sounds like talks have started in the $12 million range per year according to Stein. Expect this story to move quickly as he's the best point guard that's available as a free agent. His value would remain constant staying in Toronto and Greivis Vasquez would remain a low-end option in deeper leagues.
