J.J. Barea (foot) will not play against the Grizzlies on Monday night.

He suffered the injury over the weekend in Sunday's tough loss to the Suns. Barea doesn't see many minutes and fantasy owners can cut him loose almost everywhere considering how he gets hurt so frequently. Alexey Shved will handled the backup point guard work.

J.J. Barea played through a sore foot on Sunday, finishing a tough home loss to the Suns with two points and four assists in 17 minutes.

Barea didn't look 100 percent healthy, giving fantasy owners one more reason to avoid him. He hasn't provided lasting fantasy value off Minnesota's bench this season, and his effective field goal rate of 45.8 percent is the lowest since his rookie season in 2006-07.

J.J. Barea will play on Sunday despite a sore foot which he injured on Wednesday.

Barea may have hurt himself while attempting a rare tip-dunk off a miss by Ricky Rubio on Wednesday, but he still played 15 minutes off the bench the very next day. His typical reserve role isn't substantial enough for value in most fantasy leagues, where he can be safely left on the waiver wire.

J.J. Barea scored 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting in Tuesday's home win, adding two 3-pointer, four assists and one steal during his highest-scoring game in three weeks.

"I was due," Barea joked after the game. "I was able to be aggressive." The veteran guard was averaging 4.7 points over his previous three games, on combined 5-of-25 shooting, and sporadic effectiveness isn't reason enough to bother with him in the vast majority of leagues.

J.J. Barea matched his season-high 21 points against the Blazers on Sunday with two assists, one steal and four 3-pointers.

The Wolves needed some offensive fire power to hang with the elite offense of Portland and Barea was the solution over Ricky Rubio. This isn't the first time this has happened, so a big line shouldn't be a surprise. Unless you were on the fence to add JJB before tonight, this outburst isn't enough to grab him in most cases.

J.J. Barea played just 18 minutes on Wednesday, as usual, but hit 8-of-8 shots and two 3-pointers for 18 points and three assists.

Barea was feeling it tonight, but it will be hard for him to play well consistently when he gets so few minutes off the bench. But as long as Kevin Martin is out with a broken thumb, JJB is going to have some good nights, along with some bad ones.

J.J. Barea hit 3-of-8 shots for 11 points, three rebounds and four assists in 17 minutes on Tuesday.

JJB has somehow scored in double digits in four straight games, but has played 18 or fewer minutes in three of his last five games. And as long as his minutes are that low, he's not going to be a reliable option for fantasy owners.

J.J. Barea played through a back injury on Saturday and saw 11 minutes, but finished without a point after missing all four of his shots.

He's good for the occasional big game, but is far too inconsistent to be used in most fantasy leagues. If Ricky Rubio ever goes down with an injury, JJB will be worth a look, but for now he belongs on waivers.

J.J. Barea (back) is expected to play against the Blazers on Saturday.

He suffered the injury on Friday and remained motionless for a few seconds. Barea should be fine as the backup behind Ricky Rubio (ankle) tonight.

J.J. Barea bruised his back during Friday's game but there's no indication that he's in danger of sitting out on Saturday.

Barea has been "moving carefully" as the Wolves' prepare for Saturday's game, according to beat writer Jerry Zgoda, so it's worth keeping an eye on. His health will be even more critical if Ricky Rubio (ankle) isn't able to go vs. the Blazers.
