Courtney Lee admitted that he was "inconsistent" during his first season with the Celtics.

Lee is virtually certain to wind up in trade rumors during the offseason as Danny Ainge looks to tinker with his roster, and it's not clear if Lee's long-term future is with the Celtics. "I wasn't playing like my normal role. Roles changed a little bit, they wanted me to focus more on being a defensive player and spot up-shooter," he said. "I'll be prepared for that, a lot better than I was this year," Lee added.

Courtney Lee was privately "chafing" at the idea that he was benched in favor of guys like Jordan Crawford and Terrence Williams.

Can you blame him? Lee shot 46.4 percent from the field including 37.2 percent from behind the 3-point line, but he struggled to grasp Doc Rivers' schemes and was not a part of the playoff rotation. After signing a four-year deal in the 2012 offseason, Lee's name will be in trade rumors after his first season with the Celtics.

When asked why Courtney Lee played only four minutes in Game 2, Doc Rivers admitted it's because Jordan Crawford is the better player right now.

Ouch. Lee was signed to a multi-year deal in the offseason and was viewed as a potential weapon at both ends of the floor, but he's struggled all season and is now not even in the rotation. "Right now he's playing better, and he gives you better (offense)," Rivers said. "Courtney is better defensively."

Courtney Lee tied his season-high with 20 points on 7-of-10 shooting in Saturday's game, knocking down three 3-pointers with four assists, two steals and one turnover.

This game was a breath of fresh air for Boston -- everyone but Jason Terry (suspended) was available and the Celtics' offense rampaged over the Magic, scoring 120 points on 59.3 percent shooting. Terry may not play in the final two games of the season, and C-Lee is coming off an 18-point game, which makes Lee worth a look for owners still scrounging the waiver wire.

Courtney Lee confirmed that his ankle is feeling "good" after Sunday's loss to the Knicks.

"It's fine," Lee said. He was only able to play six minutes in his first game back from the sprained ankle, so the fact that he played 28 on Sunday is an indication he's good to go moving forward.

Courtney Lee got back to speed vs. the Knicks on Sunday with 10 points, four rebounds and one block in 28 minutes off the bench.

C-Lee played just five minutes in his return from an ankle injury this weekend, but it looks as though he's ready to resume playing closer to 30 per game. He may soon start in a small-ball lineup, as starting center Chris Wilcox finished tonight's game with just two points in 12 minutes.

Courtney Lee (ankle) is probable vs. the Hawks on Sunday.

Lee played six minutes in Friday's game and we're leaving him off the injury report, but bear in mind that his minutes may be limited a while longer.
