Spencer Hawes C LAC 13 Days

Spencer Hawes is drawing interest from contenders such as the Blazers, Clippers, Rockets and Mavs, in addition to the incumbent Cavs.

Hawes continued to produce in Cleveland after getting all he could eat in terms of touches in Philly. He's injury-prone and not the best locker room guy, but a stretch-five that isn't terrible can command a decent return these days. The Cavs and Blazers might have the inside track here as Hawes still makes his home in nearby Seattle, and Terry Stotts broke down exactly how he'd use Hawes in a recent meeting, per Adrian Wojnarowski.

Spencer Hawes will be the "main priority" for the Cavaliers in free agency this summer, according to Terry Pluto of the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

"Assuming [GM David Griffin] remains the general manager, he will make a strong push to keep the center," Pluto writes. "Griffin values big men who can pass and shoot. In fact, the Cavs have been asking Hawes to shoot even more." Hawes is averaging a career-high 14.1 points and 1.8 threes per game since joining the Cavaliers, to go along with 7.6 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.0 blocks.

Spencer Hawes had 20 points, eight rebounds, five assists and four 3-pointers in Wednesday's win over the Magic.

The key here is that Anderson Varejao (shoulder) was out and could miss multiple more games. It allowed Hawes to play 34 minutes in this one and not look over his shoulder. Lock him back into all lineups.

Spencer Hawes scored 16 points with five rebounds, two assists and two blocks in just 22 minutes of action vs. the Nets on Friday.

Hawes scored all but one of his points in the first half, and his lack of defense may have prompted coach Mike Brown to rely more heavily on Anderson Varejao (eight points, 13 rebounds) in the second half. Hawes' role has taken a sharp turn for the worse since mid-March, and he's averaging a mere 21.4 minutes in Cleveland's past five games.

Spencer Hawes hit just 2-of-4 shots for four points, six rebounds, a steal and a block in 24 minutes on Wednesday.

Hawes has seen his minutes dry up (between 17 and 24 in last four) with the strong play of Anderson Varejao lately, and has scored seven or fewer points in three of his last four games. It was a nice run, but as long as Varejao is healthy and playing, things aren't looking good for Hawes.

Spencer Hawes hasn't played in the fourth quarter during Cleveland's past three games.

To make matters worse, he's shooting just 30.3 percent from downtown over the past two weeks and his fantasy value has plummeted during that span. Cavs coach Mike Brown has been deploying small lineups to increase his team's pace, but Hawes should at least get solid playing time vs. the oversized Pistons on Wednesday.

Spencer Hawes had his worst game as a Cavalier on Saturday, making just 1-of-7 from the field for three points with two boards, two assists and one block in 17 minutes.

Omer Asik ate Hawes for lunch tonight. Hawes has been on a roll lately, so this ugly stat line is not a trend whatsoever. He's played 34.5 minutes per game over his previous 10 for averages of 16.6 points, 8.6 boards and 0.9 blocks. His owners should just cut him some slack here.

Spencer Hawes was hot late against the Thunder on Thursday, finishing with 20 points, three boards, three assists and three 3-pointers on 8-of-17 from the field.

He continues to put up impressive scoring numbers and he's done it in unconventional fashion. Since coming to Cleveland, Hawes has made a sub-par 52.2 percent of his shots at the rim while he's been outstanding on mid-range jumpers at 50.0 percent. He's adding two treys and one block per game with his new team and there has been very little drop off from his days in Philly.

Spencer Hawes scored 14 points and grabbed five rebounds before being ejected from Sunday's game after picking up his second technical foul.

He played a full 34 minutes but never got going against DeAndre Jordan and the Clippers, but he should bounce back nicely against Miami's small frontcourt on Tuesday. Hawes now has 11 technicals on the season and it's something to watch, though he still has some leeway before getting a suspension on his 16th tech.

Spencer Hawes scored 22 points on 8-of-18 shooting with 13 rebounds, one steal and one block in Friday's road win over the Warriors.

Hawes came into the game with a mild ankle issue and obviously it wasn't a problem tonight. He has fit the Cavs' scheme very well and has been a top-40 value over the last month.
