Jeff Green F BOS 7 Days
Jeff Green hit 6-of-9 shots and three 3-pointers for 18 points, five rebounds and three assists in Tuesday's win over the Bucks.
That's an incredibly efficient night and Green is finally rolling, averaging 21.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.8 3-pointers over his last five games. He's been lacking in the steals and blocks department, but those should come with time, as he's proven he's effective with both of them.
Jeff Green F BOS 10 Days
Jeff Green kept his momentum going on Saturday with 18 points, three rebounds, six assists and two 3-pointers in 41 minutes against the Bucks.
The slow start is a distant memory. Over his last seven games he's scored 20.4 points with 1.6 triples and is finally getting comfortable at small forward. This resembles the averages of 17.3 points and 1.2 triples he put up after the break last season and he looks like he's not going to slow down. His owners shouldn't be looking to sell high.
Jeff Green F BOS 11 Days
Jeff Green scored a season-high 31 points on 10-of-19 shooting (2-of-4 3PTs, 9-of-13 FTs) with five rebounds and two assists in Friday's blowout win.
Green did not record a steal or block but owners probably don't care seeing him actually active in the box score over the past few outings. Even with the burst in recent production, Green is only a low-end late round value over the past two weeks with just 0.9 combined steals and blocks and a higher-volume 43.3 percent mark from the field. The good news is that he's active, though, and Rajon Rondo's return could do wonders for his game.
Jeff Green F BOS 13 Days
The Celtics fell at home on Wednesday despite a new season-high in scoring from Jeff Green, who made 9-of-18 FGs and 7-of-8 FTs to finish with 26 points.
Green added seven boards, one assist and one steal without a single turnover. He's now averaging 18.8 points in his previous five games, though that's accompanied by a paltry 0.8 assists, 0.6 steals and 0.4 blocks. It's not exactly the well-rounded production his fantasy owners were hoping for on draft day.
Jeff Green F BOS 18 Days
Jeff Green kept his momentum going on Friday with 20 points, two boards, one steal and two 3-pointers on 8-of-13 shooting in 38 minutes against the Pacers.
He is coming off a 19-point game on Wednesday, so this game is a very good sign, especially against the tough team like the Pacers. Green is still settling for a lot of jumpers and still hasn't quite looked the same as he did last year. His patient owners should be feeling a lot better these days, though.
Jeff Green F BOS 20 Days
Jeff Green snapped out of his slump on Wednesday with 19 points, five boards, three assists, one block and two 3-pointers during a 104-93 loss to the Spurs.
His last two games were ugly with just six points combined. The new lineup helped and he takes more shots at the rim with Jared Sullinger, so the switch of Sullinger can possibly be part of the solution to get Green out of his season-long slump. Green's fantasy owners should hang in there while one the better players in the second half of last season gets things figured out.
Jeff Green F BOS 21 Days
Jeff Green hit just 2-of-7 shots for four points, two rebounds and one assist in 22 minutes of Tuesday's blowout loss to the Rockets.
Yuck. He wasn't playing a lot of defense and Brad Stevens said earlier in the day that he doesn't see Green as a go-to player for the Celtics. We're not ready to throw in the towel on him just yet, but it's obvious that his confidence is shaken and he's not really grasping his role in the Celtics offense. Bench him if you can.
Jeff Green F BOS 22 Days
Danny Ainge said that Jeff Green is a go-to player "some nights," but shouldn't be viewed as a "focal point" of the Celtics' offense.
"I don't think Jeff is one of those guys who's going to get you 25 [points] a game," Ainge said. "I think Jeff needs to become a better shooter - a more consistent shooter - to take on a role like that ... But I'm way more concerned about Jeff defending and rebounding, and not necessarily being more of an offensive player and forcing the ball in his hands." Green is coming off a horrible game on Saturday, when he scored two points on 0-of-6 shooting, but Ainge's comments feel designed to take weight off Green's shoulders -- Boston absolutely needs him to score to win games.
Jeff Green F BOS 24 Days
Jeff Green shot 0-of-6 from in Saturday's loss to the Wolves, scoring two points at the line with seven boards, one assist and two blocks.
To paraphrase, Green said after the game that he played really, really terribly. He was actually coming in somewhat hot with 17.8 points per game. Green still hasn't been able to put it all together and has been a bit of a letdown. There's a little bit of a buy-low window opening here.
Jeff Green F BOS 1 Month
Jeff Green hit 8-of-16 shots and five 3-pointers, including the miraculous game-winner at the buzzer to beat the Heat, finishing with 24 points, five rebounds, two assists and a block in 36 minutes on Saturday.
Green has been a bit up and down after a slow start to the season, but was money tonight and has been rolling, hitting double figures in scoring in four straight games and hitting nine 3-pointers over that stretch. The Celtics play four games next week and Green will be a Top 10 SF/SG play in fantasy.
