Veteran SF Stephen Jackson hasn't yet retired from the NBA, but he admitted that he's "not sitting around with [his] fingers crossed."

"If it happens, it happens," Jackson said. "If I get a call I will explore it, but I'm enjoying my life, man. I'm doing music now so it's all good." He appeared in only nine games after being signed by the Clippers last season and was waived due to the team's need for guards, but Doc Rivers offered nothing but praise for the 36-year-old journeyman. It would be a surprise to see him earn a guaranteed NBA contract next season.

Clippers waive F Stephen Jackson.

"Stephen was everything I needed him to be," said Doc Rivers. "Great attitude, great in the locker room ... It was more, once Chris [Paul] went down, we needed guards." Sure enough, L.A. is expected to sign backup PG Maalik Wayns on a 10-day contract. Jackson won't be a fantasy asset no matter where he lands.

Dan Woike, Arash Markazi and other sources are reporting that Stephen Jackson is on the verge of being waived by the Clippers.

Jackson was brought in with Matt Barnes, J.J. Redick and Reggie Bullock all out with injuries, but Barnes is back, and Redick and Bullock appear to be on the verge of a return. Jackson may catch on with another team at some point, but his fantasy career is over for all intents and purposes.

Stephen Jackson felt good but winded after playing 12 minutes in his first game action of the season Tuesday night.

"I felt pretty good. I was winded," Jackson said after Tuesday's game. "My legs were tired as soon as I got in the game, but it felt good to get back out there. Getting a win in the first one is definitely sweet." The ailing Clippers badly need the depth that the 13-year-veteran is able to supply, but fantasy owners can do a lot better than a player who likely won't ever see more than 15 minutes per game.

Stephen Jackson will join the Clippers in Boston on Tuesday to sign his contract and take a physical.

"We need him in a pinch and we need him like now," Rivers said. "And that's a guy that you can bring in and hopefully he can give you something right away with Reggie [Bullock] being out for at least this trip and maybe longer." Jackson may get some decent run in the short-term for the short-handed Clippers, but the 13-year-veteran can be considered a fantasy non-factor in all but the deepest of leagues.

The Clippers have reached an agreement with Stephen Jackson, according to's Chris Broussard.

It's a non-guaranteed deal and he'll just add depth for the Clippers. The loss of J.J. Redick (wrist) has made them a little thin at the wing, but it still might be a little while before Jackson gets worked into the rotation. He played just 19.5 minutes per game with the Spurs last year, so that serves as a fair cap for his potential value this season. He can be left on the wire in just about every league.

ESPN's Marc Stein is reporting that the Clippers are looking at signing free agent forward Stephen Jackson.

Jackson last played for the Spurs and could help the ailing Clippers, who are currently dealing with injuries to J.J. Redick Matt Barnes and Reggie Bullock. Shannon Brown's name has also come up, along with Lamar Odom, but it sounds like Jackson could become a Clipper at some point in the next week. If you're in a very deep league with a thin waiver wire, Jackson could be worth a flier.

Free agent Stephen Jackson was recently involved in an altercation at a nightclub, which resulted in former All-Star Steve Francis being handcuffed.

Jackson was rapping in a DJ booth when Francis "bumped [him] two times with his midsection," so after an exchange of words Jackson grabbed Francis around the throat. It's unclear why Francis wound up in handcuffs. S-Jax was linked to the Rockets in mid-August, but incidents like this can't help his bid to land another NBA contract.

The Rockets are believed to be in the mix to sign Stephen Jackson.

Things didn't end so well with S-Jax in San Antonio, so why not go to an in-state rival? Jackson is 35 years old and over the past two seasons has shot a laughable 37.3 percent from the field. The Rockets don't really need to add someone like Jackson, but he could see a deal at the league minimum.

Stephen Jackson has plans to return to the NBA after his exile from the Spurs this season.

Jackson revealed that he asked for a trade, but the Spurs released him outright. "I was dominating in practice, I was working my butt off, and it was just frustrating me," he said. We have serious doubts that he was "dominating" practice, but the good news is Jackson still respects Popovich. We don't anticipate a reunion any time soon, but Jackson will likely resurface next season with a new team.
