Rubio (ankle) is expected to resume working out within the next few weeks, Jerry Zgoda of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Rubio has been shut down after having his ankle scoped last month, but he's progressing in his recovery and should begin working his way back into shape as July nears. The point guard will likely be limited for several weeks, but the expectation is that he'll be ready before the start of the 2015-16 regular season.

Rubio's (ankle) camp has been pushing for a trade for quite some time, Chad Ford of ESPN reports.

Rubio averaged 10.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 8.2 assists, 0.1 blocks, and 2.3 steals on 37 percent field goal shooting in 32 minutes per game this season. That's good production, but he played in just 22 games, sitting out most of the season with a high-ankle sprain. With Rubio out, the Timberwolves were able to evaluate their team without him in the lineup, and if they like the way Andrew Wiggins plays with Zach LaVine more than they do Rubio, it's possible a trade could materialize at some point. The Timberwolves landed the first-overall pick for the 2015 NBA Draft at Tuesday's lottery. Ford is on record as saying that the Timberwolves have no preference between Karl-Anthony Towns or Jahlil Okafor, the consensus top two picks. The Timberwolves could go against conventional thought and draft a guard like Emmanuel Mudiay or D'Angelo Russell, which could mean a trade involving Rubio. At this point, it's all speculation, but the fact that Ford was willing to put his name on the story means there may be smoke where there's fire.

Rubio (ankle) continues to progress in his recovery from ankle surgery and plans to begin impact work in July, Jon Krawczynski of the Associated Press reports.

Rubio had his ankle scoped and cleaned out last month, a procedure that will limit his activity over the summer but shouldn't affect his availability for the start of next season. The point guard, who is still using crutches, is already doing upper body and will likely continue to do so until he's able to put pressure on the ankle.

Rubio appeared in only 22 games in 2014-15 while battling ankle injuries.

Durability was an issue for Rubio during his first two NBA seasons, but he played and started all 82 games in 2013-14. The injury bug returned this season, however, robbing him of two significant chunks of time. Just five games into the season, Rubio went down with a severe left ankle sprain, which kept him out from early November to early February. Once Rubio returned to the court, he did not look like himself, as he shot just 33 percent in February while turning the ball over more than three times per game in 31.4 minutes. The same struggles continued until he re-aggravated the left ankle injury against the Thunder on Mar. 13. Rubio would appear in only one more game the rest of the season as the Timberwolves went into a freefall and finished the season on a 13-game losing streak. Minnesota announced on April 13 that Rubio underwent successful arthroscopic surgery on the ankle, a procedure that will entail a recovery period of a few months. Barring a setback, Rubio will be at full strength for the start of training camp in the fall, and all signs point to him opening the season as the starting point guard.

Rubio will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his left ankle early this coming week, Yahoo! Sports reports.

The procedure will include a "minor cleanup" of the ankle, which is expected to keep him out of the European championships with his home country, Spain, this summer. However, he should be prepared for training camp, with an eye on avoiding the injury bug next season.

Rubio (ankle) will be shut down for the rest of the season, Kent Youngblood of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Rubio has been plagued by an ankle injury for nearly a month, and with nothing left to play for, the Wolves will shut the point guard down for the final six games of the season. Rubio, who started all 82 games last season, will finish the season having played in just 22 games. In those contests, Rubio averaged 10.3 points, 8.8 assists and 5.7 rebounds while shooting 35.6 percent from the floor.

Rubio (ankle) won't play Friday against the Magic, Jerry Zgoda of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Rubio continues to remain out with an ankle injury, and there's no indication of an impending return. The Timberwolves remain one of the bottom teams in the league, so losing games at this point likely benefits them, hence the lack of urgency for injured players.

Rubio (ankle) is listed as questionable for Friday's game.

The Timberwolves listed a number of players as doubtful or out Thursday, and they've upgraded each of them, including Rubio, to questionable. It still seems unlikely that Rubio is ready to play, however, as the team stated earlier in the week that he's yet to get his explosiveness back.

Rubio (ankle) is listed as doubtful Friday against the Magic.

The Wolves said Wednesday that Rubio is not quite ready to return, as he still has not gotten his explosiveness back. He missed Wednesday's contest, and barring significant improvement he'll sit out another contest Friday. Continue to expect Zach LaVine to start at point guard.
