Rondo (back) is not expected to return during the playoffs, Tim MacMahon of ESPN reports.

When asked Wednesady whether he believes Rondo will ever wear a Mavericks uniform again, coach Rick Carlisle replied, "No, I don't." It's a pretty frank assessment from Carlisle, who has not seen eye-to-eye with the mercurial point guard this season. Carlisle added that Rondo hurt his back while trying to take a charge on James Harden in the first half of Tuesday's Game 2. Rondo will continue to seek medical opinions and will remain away from the team. Set to be an unrestricted free agent this summer, Rondo will almost certainly be in another uniform in 2015-16.

Rondo (back) has been ruled out indefinitely, ESPN's Marc Stein reports.

Rondo had somewhat of a bizarre performance in Tuesday's Game 2 loss, committing four fouls and some uncharacteristic turnovers in only 10 minutes. He was seen with a heating pad on his back during the second half, but this is the first we're hearing of an injury that could threaten his status for Game 3. Until further notice, Rondo should be considered questionable, though it seems unlikely he plays Friday, due to both the injury and his ineffectiveness.

Rondo was a non-factor in Tuesday's loss to Houston, registering just four points in 10 minutes.

Rondo picked up a technical foul and four fouls overall in his ten minutes on the floor and sat out for most of the second half. This isn't the first time Rondo has been benched by coach Rick Carlisle since coming to Dallas and was actually suspended for a regular season game for a spat during the Mavericks' game on Feb. 25. While it's unlikely that Rondo will get suspended for a playoff game, his value in daily formats is taking a downturn.

Rondo finished 7-of-16 from the field but finished with a team-low -25 +/-. He will have to play better if Dallas wants to return home with a 1-1 series split.

Rondo flirted with a triple-double Sunday, scoring 11 points while collecting 11 assists and eight rebounds. He had missed Dallas' previous outing to rest.

Rondo will take the court Monday against the Jazz but will do so without the services of Monta Ellis, Tyson Chandler, and Dirk Nowitzki. Dallas is opting to rest these starters with the postseason on the horizon.

Rondo (rest) will not play in Friday's game.

The Mavericks will take Friday as an opportunity to rest Rondo with the playoffs right around the corner. Look for Devin Harris to see plenty of run at the point in Denver.

Rondo (knee) posted 12 points, three rebounds, and seven assists in 30 minutes of action Wednesday against the Suns.

Rondo is averaging 10.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 7.6 assists per game over the last five contests. Even though his numbers have gone down across the board compared to his career averages, he's still worth a spot in standard leagues for his ability to produce in multiple categories.

Rondo (knee) will play Wednesday against the Suns, Earl Sneed of Mavs.com reports.

Rondo hyperextended his knee over the weekend, but he was able to practice Tuesday and has thus been given the green light to play Wednesday. Expect him to see his usual workload as the starting point guard.
