World Peace signed an agreement with Italian team Pallacanestro Cantu for the rest of the season, according to the team's official twitter account.

With the Chinese Basketball Association season finished, Artest isn't waiting long to find work elsewhere. It's quite possible he's played his last game in the NBA, but he doesn't seem to be having much trouble finding work in Asia and Europe.

Free agent Metta World Peace is reportedly close to signing with the Sichuan Blue Whales in the Chinese Basketball Association.

MWP struggled to earn minutes under Knicks coach Mike Woodson last season, and he wasn't picked up after being waived by New York in February. He'd undoubtedly be a popular figure in China if he does sign with the Blue Whales, but we've learned not to assume anything until Metta signs on the dotted line -- before signing with the Knicks last summer, he said that he might retire, play in China, or coach in the Arena Football League.

The Knicks are interested in signing Metta World Peace.

MWP has been doing radio shows and posting entertaining tweets in the past year, so it's not clear how well he'd perform. He said he still has some left in the tank and he's not going to retire. We'll see how this plays out, but he won't be worth drafting in fantasy leagues.

Metta World Peace took to his Twitter profile on Friday to announce that he is not considering retirement.

"No way in the world I am retiring. I'm too good," said World Peace. "Last year I had a consistent pre-season. I can't control what a coach does! I played very well in the Garden last year. I played well for the Lakers prior. Metta World will be back hard body next year." World Peace is currently set to be the assistant coach of a girls high school basketball team, but it seems apparent that he'd be more than willing to take an offer from an NBA team if the situation presents itself.

Metta World Peace will be a girls high school basketball assistant coach next season.

He was bought out of his contract by the Knicks in February and has been a free agent ever since. There have been some rumors about World Peace possibly rejoining the Knicks now that his former coach Phil Jackson is the primary decision maker in New York. This is a very interesting choice for the man formerly known as Ron Artest, but he still intends to fulfill any NBA duties he may have.

Metta World Peace has been bought out by the Knicks.

He'll hit waivers and is expected to become a free agent unless a team claims him. World Peace has interest from the Spurs and Clippers for now, but there will likely be other names popping up. He can be left on the wire in all leagues.

If Metta World Peace is bought out from the Knicks, it's possible that he could sign in San Antonio according to local Spurs beat writer Mike Monroe.

There's a lot of speculation here, but it is possible MWP could make the move to SA. Peace has a good relationship with player development coach Chad Forcier from his days in Indiana, and with Kawhi Leonard still nursing a sore hand the Spurs may be looking for some depth at that position. From a fantasy perspective, MWP would have very limited value as a reserve in SA. There's nothing really concrete here, but we thought we'd just pass along the info.

Metta World Peace took to Twitter on Saturday morning to announce that his agent is working on a buyout from the Knicks.

The artist formerly known as Artest also reports that a deal could happen at any minute, so it appears his run as a Knick has officially come to an end. MWP says he's healthy and has been highly frustrated with his lack of playing time in New York, so it should be interesting to see where he lands. He's not a must-own player with this news, but he at least deserves some attention depending on where he ends up.
