Williams is expected to come off the bench during the season ahead according to his coach Byron Scott, Mark Medina of the LA Daily News reports.

There was a chance that Williams would move into the starting five over Jordan Clarkson, with Kobe Bryant at small forward, but it seems that Scott has already delineated the role of Williams for the upcoming season. Considering that Williams recently won the Sixth Man of the Year Award with Toronto, the 28-year-old should feel comfortable coming off the bench to provide instant offense in Los Angeles.

Williams has reportedly agreed to a three-year, $21 million deal with the Lakers, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo!Sports reports.

After just one year with the Raptors, Williams will now join the Lakers on a three-year pact. In 25 minutes per game last season, he finished with averages of 15.5 points, 1.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.1 steals. Williams will compete for minutes with second-year guard Jordan Clarkson and rookie D'Angelo Russell in the Lakers' backcourt. His average of 15.5 points per game was a career-best last season, and he should have the opportunity to post similar numbers as he mentors the younger guards on this team.

Williams scored 15.5 points (40% FG, 34% 3Pt, 86% FT) to go along with 1.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.1 steals, and 0.1 blocks in 25 minutes per game during 80 regular season games in 2014-15.

Williams struggled with his shot during the playoffs, averaging 12.8 points (31% FG, 19% 3Pt, 83% FT), 1.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 1.5 steals in 26 minutes per game. The 2015 NBA Sixth Man of the Year has stated he'd like to remain with the Raptors. However, he's likely to have plenty of suitors this summer after leading the league in pick and roll scoring efficiency during the 2014-15 regular season.

Williams had 20 points, three steals, three turnovers, and an assist in 27 minutes off the bench Tuesday against Washington.

Williams didn't have a field goal until the fourth quarter, but still managed to finish with 20 points. He had success getting to the line, where he hit all 10 of his attempts. With Kyle Lowry dealing with a shin contusion, Williams could see a slight uptick in minutes although Greivis Vasquez would likely get the start at point guard should Lowry miss any time. Even if he doesn't get a minutes boost, Williams remains one of Toronto's best offensive options.

Williams was named the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year on Monday, Doug Smith of the Toronto Star reports.

Williams took home 78 of 130 first-place votes, beating out Isaiah Thomas (33 first-place votes) and Jamal Crawford (eight) for the award. The 28-year-old averaged a career-high 15.5 points and 2.2 assists per game this season while playing an average of just over 25 minutes. He's shouldered much of the scoring burden for a relatively thin Toronto bench and will continue to be counted on throughout the postseason. Williams struggled in Game 1 on Saturday, scoring only 10 points on 4-of-16 shooting.

Williams could have his minutes limited Wednesday, Eric Smith of SportsNet reports.

While coach Dwane Casey confirmed that all of his regulars will play, he said that the team still has to be conscious of players' workloads. He mentioned Williams in particular, noting that the sixth man's minutes may be monitored with the playoffs set to begin this weekend. A Raptors win, coupled with a Bulls loss, would vault Toronto in the three seed and a first-round matchup with Milwaukee.

Williams scored 18 points (8-13 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 1-1 FT) with two rebounds and a steal in 24 minutes off the bench Wednesday.

The streaky scorer seems to be on an upswing again, as Williams is averaging 16.7 points over his last three games. With Kyle Lowry's back becoming an increasingly worrisome issue for the Raptors, they could use the white-hot version of Williams in their backcourt.

Williams scored 24 points (8-17 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 7-7 FT) to go along with three rebounds in 23 minutes Monday against the Pacers.

Williams can provide fantasy owners with plenty of points and three-pointers when given extended playing time, but his value is limited when the entire Raptors guard rotation is healthy. He has played 23 minutes or less in each of his last six games and Monday marked the only game over that stretch where he scored more than 14 points. His value would increase if someone were to go down due to injury, but at this point it's hard to rely on him too much.
