Coach Dwane Casey did not indicate whether Johnson would be a part of the rotation in Game 2 on Tuesday, TSN reports.

Despite "we want James" chants raining from the stands in Toronto, Johnson was a DNP-CD in Saturday's Game 1, which the Raptors lost in overtime. When asked about the situation Monday, Casey reiterated that he'll use Johnson when the matchups are appropriate. "There's going to be a time for him," Casey insisted. "I'm not going to say when it's going to be. It's not me being stubborn. It's a collective decision by our staff. It's a whole team decision. I'm not trying to be stubborn, saying 'hey, we're not going to play James Johnson', no. It's a strategic decision. We understand what we're doing." Johnson's role has fluctuated for most of the season, so the 28-year-old is used to drastic swings in minutes. "I'm the fill-in," Johnson said. "And I'm okay with that."

Johnson received a DNP-CD on Saturday against the Wizards.

Johnson's role has fluctuated all season, increasing towards the end of the year when Kyle Lowry rested due to back problems. With the loss, Johnson may find himself back in the rotation for Game 2 on Tuesday.

Johnson stuffed the stat sheet Friday against the Lakers, posting 17 points, six rebounds, three assists, and two steals in 26 minutes of action.

Johnson is averaging just 8.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.0 assists over the last five games and isn't producing enough to be worth owning in most leagues.

Johnson moved to the bench Friday against the Hornets as he put up six points, one rebound, one assist, one steal, and one block in 17 minutes.

Johnson was demoted to the bench Friday and it remains to be seen whether or not this change will be long-lasting. If that is indeed the case, Johnson's value will take a hit despite his ability to contribute in all categories.

Johnson will move to the bench for Friday's game against the Hornets, TSN Sports reports.

Johnson will be supplanted by Terrence Ross on Friday. Although Johnson may certainly stay on the bench moving forward since that's were he began the season as Ross was given the edge.

Johnson scored four points (2-4 FG) with two blocks and a steal in just 19 minutes during Monday's win over the 76ers.

Terrence Ross ended up getting extra run off the bench, as Raptors coach Dwane Casey was once again fickle with his frontcourt rotations. Johnson was still able to chip in some of the defensive stats which give him fantasy value, but if his minutes or starting spot are in jeopardy, he'll be hard to keep rostered in most leagues.

Johnson scored a team-high 27 points (10-16 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 6-8 FT) with five rebounds, four steals, and four blocks in 35 minutes Saturday. This is what Johnson can do, but in the past he's been limited by inconsistency and playing time. For now, he's the starter on the wing in Toronto and is averaging 1.5 steals and 1.8 blocks along with 15.0 points and 4.0 rebounds in his last four games. If you are lacking in defensive stats, Johnson has the role that will allow him to produce for now.

Johnson got the start at small forward Friday, scoring seven points (3-4 FG, 1-1 FT) with four rebounds, two steals and two blocks in just 19 minutes of court time during a win over the Hawks.Lou Williams, Grevis Vasquez and Terrence Ross all saw more minutes off the bench than Johnson, but he was still able to reward his fantasy owners with some defensive production. Raptors' coach Dwane Casey seems content to leave Johnson in the starting lineup for now, but his numbers could fluctuate wildly depending on matchups and Casey's rotation whims, making him tough to rely on in a lot of leagues.
