Perkins (pectoral) is officially probable to play Friday, John Reid of NOLA.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Perkins has not played since the third game of the season on Halloween. He had averaged 5.3 points and 2.7 rebounds in 9 minutes of action in that small sample size. He was originally expected to miss up to three months with a right pectoral sprain, so this is certainly quite the development. Perkins will be battling for minutes with Omer Asik and Alexis Ajinca, neither of whom have grabbed consistent minutes to date. If he is able to provide a spark, Perkins will have an opportunity to earn a spot in the rotation, however anything more than 10 to 15 minutes a night would be a reach.
