Mike D'Antoni said Dwight Howard has been cleared prior to Thursday's game and it was Dwight's decision not to play.
"He's been (medically) cleared for a while," D'Antoni said. "He felt better today. That's why he played." Whether he's been cleared or not, this wasn't exactly the smartest thing to reveal about a player that has been scrutinized all month for not playing through his shoulder injury. Dwight gets to play the worst frontcourt in basketball when the Lakers take on Charlotte Friday, so hopefully that will be the medicine he needs.
