Howard missed 41 games this season due to knee and ankle injuries. He averaged 15.8 points, 10.5 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 1.3 blocks, and 0.7 steals in 30 minutes per game through 41 games in 2014-15.

At 29 years old, the 11-year veteran is under team control through 2016-17. Howard's performance suffered this season due to his injuries, where he averaged the second-lowest rebounds and assists total of his career, the lowest minutes, blocks and steals total of his career, and his lowest points total since his rookie year. From an efficiency perspective, Howard's shooting averages (59% FG, 50% 3Pt, 53% FT) were right on par with his past production. Should Howard return healthy next season, his production for the Rockets should increase with his minutes.

Howard has been suspended one game after accumulating his fourth flagrant foul point during the postseason, Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports reports.

Howard committed a hard foul on Golden State's Andre Iguodala during Wednesday's Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals. Initially called a common foul on the floor, the league reviewed the play and has upgraded it to a Flagrant 1, stating that Howard made "unnecessary contact with his forearm to the neck area." As a result, the center will be subject to a one-game suspension, which he will serve during the first game for which he is "eligible and physically able to play," per a league press release. Assuming he's not injured to start next season, Howard will serve the suspension during Game 1 of the 2015-16 campaign.

Howard grabbed a double-double in Thursday's Game 5 loss to the Warriors, posting 18 points, 16 rebounds, one assist, two steals, and four blocks in 43 minutes of action.

Howard had a solid performance, but unfortunately it wasn't enough to help the Rockets take on the Warriors in Game 5. Now headed into the offseason, look for Howard to try to work on conditioning to stay healthy for next year.

Howard's flagrant one foul on Andrew Bogut in Game 4 has been reviewed by the NBA and will not be upgraded to a flagrant two. As a result, Howard will not be suspended for Game 5, Ken Berger of CBS Sports reports.

Rod Thorn said that Howard's contact with Bogut was unnecessary, but not excessive, and he was trying to "extricate himself from the situation." With that, Howard avoids what would have been a costly suspension for his team and will be active in Game 5 as the Rockets face elimination once again down 3-1 to the Warriors.

Howard (knee) played through pain to register a double-double Saturday, scoring 14 points (6-10 FG, 2-8 FT) with 14 rebounds and one block in 33 minutes.

With the Rockets down 0-3, Howard will have to gut it out for Game 4 as well, and look to keep the Rockets alive. He's now had back-to-back double-doubles, while playing with the knee injury and is averaging 16.6 points, 14.0 rebounds and 2.3 blocks throughout the playoffs, in a return to the Orlando-era player that made him one of the best players in the entire league.

Howard (knee) will take the court Saturday against the Warriors, the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Coach Kevin McHale stated he'll play the center "as much as we can."

After coming down with a left knee sprain in Game 1 of the Western Conference finals Tuesday, Howard mustered a valiant effort Thursday, tallying 19 points, 17 rebounds, two steals, one assist, and one block in 40 minutes. Considering McHale's comment prior to Saturday's contest, Howard is likely poised to earn a similar amount of run in the must-win scenario.

Howard says his knee feels "a lot better" than before Game 2 against the Warriors and that "some of the pain is gone," Ken Berger of CBS reports.

Howard scored 19 points and pulled down 17 rebounds in Game 2, so you have to wonder how much the knee really hampered him. Still, the Rockets will probably take any good news as they try to avoid going down 3-0 to the top-seeded Warriors.

Howard (knee) is officially listed as probable for Saturday's Game 3 against the Warriors, Jenny Dial Creech of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Howard was a game-time decision for Game 2 after spraining his knee in Game 1, and he played well, putting up 19 points and 17 rebounds in 40 minutes. It doesn't look as though he'll miss any time going forward, so expect more big production from Howard as the series shifts to Houston. The center is averaging 16.6 points, 14.0 rebounds, 2.3 blocks and 1.4 steals in the postseason.

Howard had a strong game Thursday just two days after suffering a sprained knee. He finished with 19 points (8-11 FG, 3-7 FT), 17 rebounds, and two steals over 40 minutes against Golden State.

Howard was a game-time decision heading into Thursday's game, but was able to give it a go and remained in the starting lineup. Not only were his numbers impressive, but the fact that he was able to stay on the floor for 40 minutes indicates that his knee injury isn't a major concern. Howard has posted monster double doubles in four of his last five games and is averaging 16.4 points and 16.2 boards over that span.
