Cousins, who is highly involved in rumored trade talks, saw the Kings select another frontcourt option with Willy Cauley-Stein in the 2015 NBA Draft.

Assuming Cousins remains in Sacramento, his workload doesn't seem to be in danger even with the selection of Cauley-Stein. The incoming rookie should be slotted at the five while Cousins is fully capable of playing power forward at the four. In fact, Cauley-Stein is expected to have troubles on the offensive end, meaning that Cousins will still get plenty of touches and continue to be a be a first-round pick across all formats.

Kings' vice president of basketball operations, Vlade Divac, called Cousins "untradeable" in a recent interview, NBC Sports reports. "DeMarcus is untradeable," Divac said. "He's a guy who we're going to try to build around and see where he's going to take us."

While Divac's words far from guarantee anything, they reaffirm the belief that the Kings are comfortable going forward with Cousins as their franchise centerpiece. The Kentucky product has emerged as one of the best two-way big men in the league, but his individual numbers have not translated to team success. For the past few seasons, rumors have swirled suggesting that Cousins may want out of Sacramento, but the All-Star, himself, has never said as much. Even so, the prevailing belief seems to be that he's close to fed up with the team's losing ways, and his name has surfaced as a potential trade target this offseason. Divac's comments suggest the Kings have no interest in parting ways with Cousins, but that likely won't prevent teams from pursuing deals this summer.

Cousins has been ruled out for the season in order to rehab his "right ankle and other leg injuries," the Kings' official site reports.

What was expected all along has now come to fruition. In essence, an examination with a specialist in Los Angeles on Friday revealed that Cousins was dealing with sprained ankles and a strained calf, among other ailments. For the final three games of the regular season, Jason Thompson is the best bet to start in Cousins' place.

Cousins (foot) could be shut down for the rest of the season, the Cowbell Kingdom reports.

After missing the Kings' last three games due to foot issues, Cousins visited with a specialist Friday, but nothing has emerged from the evaluation. With only three outings left in the regular season, it's likely safe to turn elsewhere if fantasy leagues are still hanging in the balance.

Cousins (foot) will meet with another specialist Friday, James Ham of Cowbell Kingdom reports.

Cousins has already been ruled out for Friday's game, and it looks as though there's a good chance he could miss the final three games of the season as well. The Kings are expecting a report from the specialist Saturday, at which point Cousins' status will be updated.

Cousins (foot) won't play Friday against the Thunder, Sean Cunningham of News 10 KXTV reports.

Cousins visited a foot specialist Wednesday, and has missed each of the last two games because of the issue. While it's just being labeled as a sore right foot, the injury will cost him at least Friday's contest as well. The big man's next chance to return would come Sunday against the Nuggets.

Cousins (foot) visited with a specialist in Los Angeles on Wednesday, the Sacramento Bee reports.

Cousins sat out Monday's game to rest a number of minor injuries accumulated over the course of the season, but the team is bit more concerned about the pain in his foot. At this point, the results of the visit to the specialist are unknown, but if pain persists Cousins could be held out of more games down the stretch. Sacramento plays in Oklahoma City on Friday and Denver on Sunday before finishing out the season with a home-and-home series against the Lakers on Monday and Wednesday.

Cousins (foot) has been officially ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Jazz.

As expected, Cousins will sit out for the second straight game while nursing a foot injury. It's unclear how severe the injury is, but if it's anything more than routine soreness, the non-contending Kings could opt to shelve him for the season.

Cousins (foot) is unlikely to play in Wednesday's game, Cowbell Kingdom's James Ham reports.

He has already been ruled out for Tuesday's game and will meet with team doctors, and may even get a second opinion. Given the Kings' status as a non-contender, it would not be surprising if Cousins missed most, if not all of the rest of the regular season. Jason Thompson could see increased run and touches down the stretch.
