The Hawks have been resting some of their starters and Horford is even seeing less playing time when he does take the floor as he played 31 minutes or less in each of his last three games entering Monday. Expect him to sit again at some point down the stretch, so monitor the news on him daily.

Horford had a rough shooting performance Wednesday against Golden State, finishing with eight points on 4-of-18 shooting. He added six rebounds, three assists, one block, and two steals over 32 minutes in the loss.

Horford had an uncharacteristically bad shooting game, going just 22 percent from the floor compared to his 53 percent clip on the season. Consider Wednesday's game an aberration and expect him to bounce back Friday against the Thunder.

Horford (rest) returned to the starting lineup Tuesday after sitting out a game and scored 18 points (9-14 FG) in 36 minutes while grabbing eight boards and blocking three shots.

The Hawks have been going with a Spurs-like rest system this year, so it wouldn't be unusual to see Horford sit out a few more games this year. He's now scored double-digit points in four straight games and has eight or more rebounds in five straight.

Horford (rest) practiced Monday and will start Tuesday's game, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Chris Vivlamore reports.

After Saturday's strategic DNP for Horford and several other Hawks, he can be deployed as usual this week. That said, do not be surprised if Horford gets a few more random days off down the stretch as the Hawks prepare for the postseason.

Horford (rest) won't take the court Saturday at Miami, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

With the Hawks facing the back end of a back-to-back set, Horford didn't even make the trip to Miami. Because Horford and Pero Antic (rest) are both sidelined, Mike Muscala could get the nod at center, but Elton Brand and Mike Scott are the remaining options outside of Paul Millsap in the Hawks' frontcourt.
