Brian McCann belted his first two home runs as a member of the Yankees, powering the team to a 7-4 victory over the Red Sox on Saturday.

McCann launched a solo shot off John Lackey in the fourth inning and tagged him again for a two-run blast in the sixth inning. Even with the 2-for-4 effort, he's hitting just .195/.214/.341 on the season, but perhaps this strong effort is just what it takes to get him going.

Brian McCann singled twice in four at-bats against the Astros on Wednesday.

The Yankees' new catcher earned his first hit and RBI in pinstripes on Tuesday, but he added two more singles for good measure in the second game of the season. McCann, though, was brought on board for his power and he has hit at least 20 home runs in each of the last six seasons. The short porch in right should make the seventh year an easier task.

Yankees signed C Brian McCann to five-year, $85 million contract.

The deal is now official while an introductory press conference is scheduled for Thursday at Yankees Stadium. The contract includes a vesting option for 2019 which could reportedly bring the overall package to $100 million. McCann returned from shoulder surgery to hit .256/.336/.461 with 20 homers in 102 games in 2013 and should continue to post solid fantasy numbers in the hitter-friendly confines of Yankee Stadium.

The Yankees and Brian McCann have agreed upon a five-year, $85 million deal, per Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports.

The deal also includes a vesting option for a sixth year that could bring the deal to $100 million. McCann has been a top option for the Yankees since the outset of free agency, so it's no surprise they got their guy. The 29-year-old hit .256/.336/.461 with 20 homers in 102 games in 2013 and should improve on those numbers in his new digs.

Brian McCann and the Yankees are close on a five-year deal worth more than $80 million, according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports.

The Yankees suffered through the 2013 season with Chris Stewart and Austin Romine behind the plate, so they obviously made catcher a priority this offseason. In McCann they're targeting the best option available on the free agent market. The left-handed McCann should enjoy the short porch in right field at Yankee Stadium. He's hit at least 20 home runs in each of the last six seasons. The Rockies were also in on McCann and made a late run at the 29-year-old, Rosenthal said.
