Adams (shoulder) was activated from the 60-day DL.

Fraying in the labrum of Adams' surgically-repaired right shoulder forced the 36-year-old out of action in early June, but he's been cleared to return following a trio of successful rehab appearances with Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Adams has put up impressive numbers throughout his 10-year major league career (2.37 ERA, 9.1 K/9), but given his recent shoulder troubles, it's no guarantee the Phillies will pick up his $6 million price tag for 2015.

Adams (shoulder) pitched a scoreless inning Tuesday for Triple-A Lehigh Valley, striking out one and getting two groundouts.

It was Adams' first rehab appearance. He is scheduled to pitch again this weekend and will likely need a handful of outings before he rejoins the Phillies next month.

Adams will undergo stem-cell treatment for his shoulder in the winter, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Adams, who is on the disabled list with shoulder inflammation, said he has about 20 percent of his right rotator cuff remaining. He will start a rehab assignment Tuesday, and hopes to pitch for the Phillies in September.

Adams (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment Tuesday with Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Considering that Adams has been out all summer, it's likely that the Phillies will take it slow with his rehab process, and he could return in early-to-mid September to a mid-inning role in the big-league bullpen. Ken Giles, however, has staked a firm claim to the eighth inning and is the Phillies' closer in waiting.

Adams has been long-tossing and was scheduled to throw a bullpen session Sunday. He has been on the disabled list since June 7 with right rotator cuff inflammation.

Mike Adams (shoulder) hopes to begin throwing off a mound during the first week of August.

Adams, who's been out since June 7 with fraying in his right shoulder labrum, was recently transferred to the 60-day disabled list. The right-hander could return in late August if he's able to avoid setbacks, but he admitted to reporters Sunday that he won't be 100 percent.

Phillies transferred RHP Mike Adams from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.

He'll now be sidelined until at least early August with fraying in his right labrum, and there's no guarantee he'll return at all this season. Adams has pitched well when healthy this season, posting a 2.12 ERA with 20 strikeouts over 17 innings.

Mike Adams (shoulder) acknowledged Monday that he will be out through the All-Star break.

And possibly much longer. Adams was diagnosed June 10 with fraying in his right labrum and he remains shut down from throwing. Consider the setup man out indefinitely.

Mike Adams was diagnosed Tuesday with fraying in his right labrum and will be shut down 10 days.

Adams is going to get a cortisone injection later this week to help with the discomfort that he's feeling. There's no structural damage in his rotator cuff, so the Phillies are staying optimistic. Aadams, who's had a tough recent history with shoulder issues, was sporting a 2.12 ERA and 20 strikeouts through 17 innings this season.

Mike Adams (shoulder) could receive a cortisone injection when he visits the doctor Monday.

Adams was placed on the disabled list Saturday with right rotator cuff inflammation and admitted to being concerned. It doesn't appear that he has structural damage, but more will be known after Monday's exam. Adams had been pitching well, posting a 2.12 ERA with 20 strikeouts in 17 innings. "That's probably the most frustrating part," Adams said. "I felt like pitching-wise, I had gotten back to where I was in the past."
