Martinez went 3-for-4 with three RBI in Wednesday's win over the Pirates.

The three-hit effort raised Martinez's batting average to .323, which is sixth best in the majors. With 23 homers, the 35-year-old veteran is still well on his way to passing his career-high mark of 25 bombs, but his pace has dropped with just two dingers in his past 100 plate appearances. Despite the power outage, Martinez has slashed .330/.400/.832 during that stretch and remains a valuable fantasy asset.

Tigers manager Brad Ausmus doesn't plan to use Martinez behind the plate in the Tigers' interleague series at Pittsburgh.

The Tigers are concerned about Martinez's health if he were to catch. "Because of the side injury he had before the break, we were going to have him catch some bullpens in Arizona [two weeks ago] but I didn't want to risk it," Ausmus said. "So at this point, we won't catch Victor, but there's a good possibility that [Miguel Cabrera] will play third."
