Jose Bautista RF/DH TOR 18 Days
A National League general manager has indicated to the Boston Globe's Nick Cafardo that Jose Bautista could be available via trade.
"It's a name we're hearing through back channels right now, but wouldn't be surprised if he's available" the GM said. Howard Eskin of FOX 29 TV and 94 WIP reported last week that the Phillies were nearing a deal for Bautista, but while that report was debunked, it does appear the slugger could be available. The Blue Jays would want pitching in return.

The Blue Jays have shut Jose Bautista (hip) down for the season.
The last-place Jays were in no hurry to rush Bautista back and they made the prudent decision. The slugger sustained a left hip bone bruise in August and aggravated it on the 20th when he tried to play through the injury. Bautista ends the year with a nice .259/.358/.498 slash line to go with 28 homers and 73 RBI in 118 games.
