Gordon Wittenmyer of the Chicago Sun-Times reports that the Brewers and Red Sox are among the teams interested in free agent reliever Carlos Marmol.

Marmol posted a 2.53 ERA over 21 appearances after joining the Dodgers around mid-season this year and struck out 27 batters over 21 1/3 innings. That's not say that he's fixed, as his control was just as bad as ever, but it's no surprise that teams still see some upside here.

Dodgers activated RHP Carlos Marmol.

Marmol, acquired from the Cubs on July 2 in exchange for Matt Guerrier, posted a 2.53 ERA and 27/19 K/BB ratio in 21 appearances for the Dodgers. He coughed up just one run over his final 19 appearances of the regular season. Marmol wasn't used in Game 1's 13-inning loss to the Cardinals, but five of his bullpen mates were, which means that the right-hander should be prepared to go during Saturday afternoon's Game 2 tilt.
