Jose Lopez had a massive day at the dish on Saturday, going 5-for-6 with three RBI in an 11-5 thrashing of the Orioles.

The five-hit night raised Lopez's batting average from .232 to .257. With Lonnie Chisenhall on the disabled list, Lopez is being counted on to be a run producer in the Indians' lineup. He did the job Saturday.

Jose Lopez hit a solo home run in Wednesday's loss to the Reds.

Lopez's third home run of the season was his first since May 17. Receiving limited starts and a continual threat to be designated for assignment, Lopez is off the radar outside of exceptionally deep AL-only leagues.

Updating a previous item, Jose Lopez was scratched from Tuesday's lineup due to lower back soreness.

It's probably safe to call him day-to-day. Lonnie Chisenhall will make the start at the hot corner Tuesday night.

Indians sent INF Jose Lopez outright to Triple-A Columbus.

Lopez cleared waivers after being designated for assignment earlier this week. The 28-year-old is unable to refuse the assignment, so he'll serve as infield depth at the minor league level. Lopez batted just .190 (4-for-21) during his time with the big club.
