Boone Logan RP COL 2 Months

Boone Logan (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Colorado Springs on Thursday or Friday.

Boone Logan (elbow) is nearing a rehab assignment after getting through a live batting practice session with no issues Tuesday.

Logan thinks he could return now without a rehab assignment, but he's expected to make two appearances before being activated. "If I had a say, I'd say, 'Let's rock n roll,' but I have to wait," said Logan. "This is my first time dealing with this kind of stuff."

Rockies placed LHP Boone Logan on the 15-day disabled list with left elbow inflammation.

He apparently tried to pitch through the soreness for a while. Logan got a late start to the season while coming back from offseason surgery to remove bone chips from his elbow. The good news is that an MRI showed no structural damage, but it's not clear how long Logan will be sidelined. The Rockies haven't announced a corresponding move.

Rockies activated LHP Boone Logan from the 15-day disabled list.

Logan underwent offseason surgery to remove bone chips from his elbow and the Rockies didn't want to rush him back for Opening day. The southpaw signed a three-year, $16.5 million deal with Colorado over the winter and will help serve as a bridge in the late innings.

He'll pitch for Colorado Springs on Thursday and Friday before being re-evaluated. Logan is eligible to return from the disabled list on Saturday, and it seems likely that he'll be activated then unless he has a setback.

Rockies placed LHP Boone Logan on the 15-day disabled list.

It was a close call as to whether or not Logan would be ready for Opening Day, but ultimately he was behind just enough to necessitate a short stay on the DL. Logan will likely be ready to come off when first eligible on April 5.

Boone Logan (elbow) is a "longshot" to avoid the disabled list, according to Rockies manager Walt Weiss.

Logan is coming off offseason surgery on his left elbow, and it was always a question as to whether he'd be ready for the start of the season. Even if he starts on the DL, it likely won't be a long stay for the reliever. As long as he avoids pitching in an official game he'll first be eligible to come off on April 5.

Boone Logan (elbow) will throw one inning or 25 pitches, whichever comes first, in a minor league game Monday.

Logan issued a nine-pitch walk in his only action in a minors game Saturday, and it's still up in the air as to whether he'll be ready for Opening Day. If he does start the year on the disabled list, he'll be eligible to return on April 5 as long as he doesn't pitch in another Cactus League game before then. At this point it seems like a 50/50 proposition he'll start the year on the DL.

Boone Logan made his Cactus League debut against the Brewers on Thursday, giving up one run in his only inning of work.

Logan was singled to death, then issued a bases loaded walk to force in a run. He did record a strikeout, but the Rockies aren't concerned with spring results at this point. They remain hopeful he'll be able to join the team when the regular season begins.
