Kendrick was batting leadoff on Sunday, the spot at which he's struggled the most among the different lineup spots he's found himself in this season. The second baseman is always a good bet to hit for average, though, and he's right there again -- after Sunday's game, Kendrick is batting .286/.353/.390 on the year.

Howie Kendrick went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer against the A's on Friday.

After rather brief stints batting cleanup and then leading off, Kendrick was in the fifth spot behind David Freese for the second straight game tonight. The homer gave him his first runs batted in since May 19 and his first run scored since May 23. It'd seem to make more sense to keep him at the top of the lineup as good of a job as he's done getting on base this year. Not only is he hitting .291, but his 21 walks in 213 at-bats are almost two-thirds of his way to his career high of 33. Last year, he had 23 walks in 478 at-bats.

Howie Kendrick went 4-for-5 with two doubles and two runs scored in the Angels' 5-3 win over the Rangers on Saturday.

Kendrick opened the season hitting seventh behind Raul Ibanez and David Freese, which hardly seemed right after his performance last year. Because of injuries, though, he's often hit first and fourth of late. Today was his seventh game in the cleanup spot, and he's homered twice and knocked in six runs in those games. He should be a nice mixed-league second baseman as long as he can avoid getting buried in the lineup again.
