Joyce went 2-for-4 with a double and one run scored in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Yankees.

Joyce continues to swing a hot bat in recent days, as the 30-year-old outfielder has now gone 8-for-23 with five walks and three extra-base hits over his last nine games. In addition to those totals, Joyce has chipped in five RBI and a half-dozen runs scored.

Joyce is out of the lineup Thursday vs. the Rangers, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

After homering and scoring three runs a night earlier, Joyce will take a seat Thursday with lefty Robbie Ross on the mound for the Rays. Brandon Guyer starts in left field, while Evan Longoria handles designated hitting duties for the Rays.

Joyce swatted a home run, drove in a pair of runs, and scored three of his own in Sunday's demolition of the Rangers.

The Rays have extracted decent value from Joyce in using him as a semi-regular player this season, with the 29-year-old responding with a .281/.374/.431 line over 320 at-bats. He's noticed some a dropoff in his power production from his 19-homer peak back in 2011, but he still offers ample fantasy value when he sees a steady stream of right-handed pitching.

Joyce had a productive day at the plate Monday, going 1-for-2 with a pair of walks and two RBI.

Joyce has been in and out of the lineup this month, but is still hitting .296 since the calendar turned to August. The outfielder has seven home runs and 46 RBI to go with his .280 batting average.

Joyce is out of the lineup Sunday against the Cubs, MLB.com's Bill Chastain reports.

Joyce has seen limited playing time with the interleague series eliminating the DH spot this weekend. The left-handed batting Joyce will sit with the lefty Travis Wood on the mound for the Cubs Sunday, but will likely rejoin the lineup when the designated hitter returns.

Joyce is out of the lineup Friday against the Cubs.

Joyce typically serves as the DH when a right-hander takes the mound, but he'll sit Friday with lefty Tsuyoshi Wada on the bump for the opposing Cubs. With the Rays opening a three-game set in an NL ballpark, Joyce would have to return to the lineup in the outfield Saturday, which is a likely possibility with righty Edwin Jackson in line to take the mound.

Matt Joyce went 5-for-6 with a double, two home runs, and four RBI in Sunday's win over the Orioles.

A career day for Joyce, who notched five hits in a game for the first time in his career, and blasted two home runs in a game for only the third time. Joyce, who has faced right-handed pitching almost exclusively, is slashing .274/.360/.425 with five home runs and 33 RBI on the season.

Matt Joyce went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored against the Orioles on Tuesday.

Joyce doubled off Orioles starter Miguel Gonzalez and scored in the fifth inning, and he also added a single in the game. Joyce has hits in five straight games to bring his average up to .270, but he's still sitting on three home runs for the year. The 29-year-old is on pace for his lowest home run output of any full season in his career.

Matt Joyce went 1-for-2 with a two-run double and two walks against the Astros on Friday.

Progress? Joyce has three RBI over his last two games after collecting just one RBI over his previous 12 games. Still, the 29-year-old hasn't homered since May 11 and has just three on the year so far. It's tough to have much enthusiasm for him in mixed leagues right now.

Matt Joyce went 3-for-3 with a double before being removed for a pinch-hitter Wednesday against the Marlins.

Joyce had a nice game against a pitch in Tom Koehler who had dominated left-handed hitters this season, but he was pulled when it came time for him to face a lefty. He broke out of an 0-for-16 slump with the performance and pushed his average back up to .273. Unfortunately, his power has been surprisingly absent, with no homers since May 11 and just three all season. It leaves him with very little mixed-league value.
