Joyce is dealing with some soreness as a result, but believes he could play Wednesday. However, he's not in the starting lineup with left-hander Derek Holland on the hill. Sean Rodriguez is starting in left field.

Matt Joyce hit a walk-off solo home run Wednesday to give the Rays an 8-7 win over the Orioles.

It was a good time for Joyce's first home run of the season. The 28-year-old has great raw power and should carry value in deep mixed fantasy leagues this summer if he's able to stay healthy. He has averaged 22 home runs per 162 games in his six-year major league career.

Rays avoided arbitration with OF Matt Joyce by agreeing to a one-year, $2.45 million contract.

It's a nice bump in salary for the first-time arbitration-eligible player. Joyce put up a disappointing .241/.341/.429 batting line with 17 homers in 2012 but will return as the regular right fielder against right-handed pitching in 2013.

Matt Joyce smashed a pair of homers and drove home four runs, powering the Rays to a 10-4 victory over the White Sox on Saturday.

Joyce finished the day 2-for-2 plus a walk, with two runs scored and the aforementioned four RBI. He entered the game as a pinch-hitter for Ben Francisco in the fifth inning, drawing a walk. His first bomb came as a solo shot off Dylan Axelrod in the seventh inning, and he added a three-run shot off Leyson Septimo in the eighth inning. Joyce is now hitting .244/.345/.435 with 17 homers and 59 RBI on the year.

Matt Joyce went 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBI in a win over the Blue Jays on Saturday.

Joyce had a two-run double in a four-run third inning and later added a solo home run for some insurance in the eighth. It proved to be very valuable, as the Rays ended up winning by just one run. The home run was Joyce's 15th of the season and his first since August 11. This was his first multi-hit game since August 10.

Mat Joyce (forearm) is back in the Rays' starting lineup on Thursday against the Blue Jays.

Joyce was held out of action Wednesday after straining his left forearm on Tuesday night. He is serving as Tampa Bay's designated hitter on Thursday in Toronto.

Joyce left Tuesday's game with a left forearm strain and is considered day-to-day. He would have sat out Wednesday anyway with left-hander Matt Harrison on the hill for Texas. Sam Fuld will make the start in right field.
