Chipper Jones said he'll probably take Tuesday off.

He's in there Monday against Jeff Locke because he wanted to face a left-hander. The veteran third baseman is hitting just .230 this month, but still has an impressive .287/.377/.457 batting line and an .834 OPS in his final season in the big leagues.

Chipper Jones plans to play all six games during the Braves' final homestand.

Chipper has played on six consecutive days just twice this season, but he wants the fans to be able to see him every day in what will be his final homestand at Turner Field. "He wants to play all the games at home, and you can't blame him," manager Fredi Gonzalez said. "We sat down and spoke about it this afternoon. He wants to play all six, because he wants to be able to catch the Nationals and also give the fans here something to come out and watch."

Chipper hit his second walkoff homer of the year, both coming against the Phillies. Prior to his game-ender on May 2, he hadn't had a walkoff homer since 2006.

Chipper Jones is dealing with a left oblique injury.

Jones was held out of the lineup for the second straight game Sunday, and should be considered day-to-day. The injury isn't a high-level concern, and likely won't require an extended absence. In addition to the oblique, Jones is working through a lower back issue.
