Adam Jones CF BAL 1 Month
Adam Jones underwent X-rays after fouling a ball off his foot during Thursday's game, but nothing was found and he remains in the Orioles' lineup on Friday.
Nothing more than a scare for the 27-year-old budding superstar. Jones is off to a terrific start to his 2013 season, hitting .319/.351/.493 with four homers, 23 RBI and four stolen bases through his first 35 games. He's developed into one of the finest all-around outfielders in the league and looks poised to improve upon his breakout 2012 campaign.

Adam Jones went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run, but the Orioles lost to the Rays on Wednesday.
The homer was just Jones' second of the season, but power is the only area in which the center fielder is struggling. Jones is hitting .390 with 14 runs scored and 13 RBI thus far. Once he gets the power stroke going, Jones will be even more dangerous in the middle of that Orioles lineup.

Adam Jones drove in two runs with a single and a double Thursday in the Orioles' 3-2 win over the Red Sox.
One of the game's hottest players right now, Jones has hit in nine straight to open the season. He's scored runs in seven of the games and driven in runs in five. Only Coco Crisp has scored more runs than Jones' 11.

Adam Jones went 3-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI and two runs scored in the Orioles' 7-4 win over the Rays on Tuesday.
Jones scalded a liner into left field in a bid for a fourth hit, only to be robbed by Sam Fuld. Still, it was a fine day for the Orioles' center fielder. Since the team will almost certainly be stronger in the first and second spots in the lineup this year, Jones should have little trouble topping last year's total of 82 RBI.

Adam Jones is not in the Orioles' lineup Saturday.
It's just a precautionary day of rest. Jones isn't in any danger of not being ready for Opening Day against the Rays.

Adam Jones went 3-for-4 and hit a pair of homers Monday in the Orioles' 12-9 defeat of the Red Sox.
The Orioles improved to a Grapefruit League-best 18-7 this spring. Only the Royals, who are 21-6 in the Cactus League, have a better record overall. They were doing it essentially without Jones, too. The center fielder, who started for Team USA in the WBC, was 1-for-18 going into today.

Orioles outfielder Adam Jones, who played in all 162 games in 2012, joked to reporters on Friday that he's going after Cal Ripken Jr.'s record of 2,632 consecutive games played.
It's certainly encouraging in this day and age to see a player's desire to be in the lineup everyday. Jones even worked harder this offseason to strengthen his lower body to better hold up over the grind of the MLB season. When asked about it, O's skipper Buck Showalter didn't completely rule out this possibility, but made it sound very unlikely that Jones would appear in every game in 2013.

The Orioles have signed manager Buck Showalter and executive VP Dan Duquette to contract extensions.
The new deals will run through the 2018 season, and are certainly well-deserved. Showalter boasts a 196-185 managerial record since signing on with the O's, and Duquette has provided some of the players that have helped make that possible. The Orioles will be looking to secure their second straight postseason berth this summer.

Dan Connolly of the Baltimore Sun reports that the Orioles could announce a contract extension for manager Buck Showalter as soon as Thursday.
If an announcement isn't made Thursday, it should come before Saturday's FanFest event. Showalter's current contract runs through the end of 2013, but he's expected to get at least three years tacked on. It's well deserved, as he has a 196-185 record as skipped and led the club to their first playoff appearance since 1997 last year.
