Josh Johnson (triceps) was sent for an MRI on Friday.

Johnson was scratched from Friday's start against the Yankees due to right triceps tightness, but the hope is that he'll only have to miss one start. While MRI results aren't yet known, the Blue Jays are confident that it will come back clean. Aaron Laffey is starting in his place Friday night against New York.

Josh Johnson gave up four runs over 5 1/3 frames but escaped with a no-decision in Sunday's 8-4 win over the Yankees.

The big right-hander allowed eight hits, walked three and struck out four. Johnson was terrific during spring training, but he's made only one good start in four tries since the regular season began. He'll look for better results next weekend in the Bronx.

Josh Johnson struck out eight batters and allowed two runs over seven innings, but the White Sox downed the Blue Jays on Tuesday.

Johnson allowed just four hits and two walks in his seven innings of work after lasting just 1 1/3 innings against the Red Sox his last time out. The 29-year-old still has a 6.91 ERA and 1.81 WHIP to show for his efforts, but the one bad start overshadows the two largely useful ones. Johnson isn't the dominant force he once was, but he can still help fantasy teams most times out.
