Janish signed a minor league contract with the Orioles on Friday that includes an invite to spring training, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
Janish started last season in the Rockies organization but struggled and was released. He later signed a minor league deal with the Royals, and finished the season strong, batting .314/.375/.438 with two home runs and 17 RBI at Triple-A Omaha. With J.J. Hardy already solidified at shortstop, Janish's sites will likely be set on a bench spot out of spring training.
