Kevin Gausman left Sunday's start against the Athletics after facing one batter in the fifth inning, allowing five runs over four innings in a loss.

The A's had Gausman's number on Sunday afternoon, piling up nine hits and a pair of walks. Gausman also struck out six. The right-hander, who has been up and down a few times for the Orioles this season, now has a 4.04 ERA, 1.39 WHIP, and a 32/15 K/BB ratio. Gausman will try to pick up his fifth win on Friday night in Seattle against the Mariners.

Kevin Gausman will not be on an innings limit in the season's second half.

"The wrappers are off," Orioles manager Buck Showalter recently said regarding the club's usage of Gausman. The right-hander was used mostly as a spot starter in the first half, making seven starts while shuttling between Baltimore and the minor leagues. The O's still haven't committed to giving him the ball every five days, but with the kid gloves off Gausman should be more involved in the next two months. He has a 3.29 ERA over 38 1/3 innings and is a nice flyer in deeper mixed leagues.

Kevin Gausman defeated the Yankees in a rain-shortened contest on Sunday night, surrendering just one run on four hits over his five innings of work.

The five innings constituted the entirety of the ballgame as the storms wouldn't let up enough to allow for a completion. Gausman punched out two without walking a batter on the night. The only damage against him came on a leadoff homer from Brett Gardner. He now owns a 4-2 record, 3.29 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 26/13 K/BB ratio over 38 1/3 innings with the Orioles on the season.

Orioles recalled RHP Kevin Gausman from Triple-A Norfolk.

Gausman will start either on Saturday (less likely) or Sunday (more likely) against the Yankees in place of the injured Ubaldo Jimenez (ankle). Jimenez is eligible to return from the DL not long after the All-Star break, but Gausman should get at least one additional outing.

Orioles optioned RHP Kevin Gausman to Triple-A Norfolk.

Gausman allowed one run over 5 1/3 innings against the Red Sox on Sunday, so it's not anything he did, but the Orioles are in need of an arm for their bullpen because the game went to extra innings. The young right-hander is expected to make at least one start in Triple-A. Don't give up on him yet in deeper fantasy leagues. He should be back soon.

Kevin Gausman allowed one run over 5 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the Red Sox on Sunday.

Making a spot start, Gausman was in line for the win before the Red Sox rallied to tie the game after he exited. Gausman struck out seven while walking two and allowing four hits. He's been more good than bad after a clunker his first time out on May 14, and Sunday's start may earn him an extended look with the O's this time. That start could come this weekend against the Yankees.

Orioles recalled RHP Kevin Gausman from Triple-A Norfolk.

Gausman will start on Sunday against the Red Sox. He's not guaranteed another start after that, so the righty might have to pitch well in order to remain in the rotation. Gausman holds a 3.86 ERA and 17/11 K/BB ratio over 28 innings this season.

Kevin Gausman will be recalled to start on Sunday against the Red Sox.

It was the assumption, but Orioles manager Buck Showalter made it official Friday. Gausman has been up-and-down during his five starts with the big club this season, posting a 3.86 ERA and 17/11 K/BB ratio over 28 innings. It's not an ideal matchup, but Gausman is worth a shot in deeper formats.

Orioles manager Buck Showalter said Tuesday that Kevin Gausman could be recalled to start on Sunday.

Gausman will make an abbreviated start on Wednesday for Short-Season Aberdeen so that he'll be available to start Sunday in Boston. If the O's don't recall Gausman, T.J. McFarland will get another start. "We thought it was more important that he pitch on his fifth day this time and more important that he got a good workday, which he got yesterday," Showalter said. "Off today and then start tomorrow, and then kind of shorten that up and make him available for Sunday."

Gausman made a start in Friday's doubleheader, allowing five runs on seven hits and four walks over five frames. He's expected to rejoin the rotation later this week, so fantasy owners should hang on to the talented right-hander.
