Chris Iannetta blasted a three-run homer, powering the Angels to a 7-3 victory over the Royals in Cactus League action on Friday.
The 30-year-old backstop finished the day 1-for-2 plus a walk. He's had a tremendous spring to this point, slashing .346/.500/.731 with a pair of long balls and 10 RBI, and should once again begin the season as the Halos primary option behind the dish.

Chris Iannetta credited new contact lenses for his turnaround at the plate last season.
The lenses also helped him on the defensive end. Iannetta batted .211/.356/.347 in the first half of the 2013 season and .246/.362/.413 in the second half. The 30-year-old catcher should regain some fantasy value in 2014.

Bob Elliott of the Toronto Sun reports that the Blue Jays have targeted Angels catcher Chris Iannetta.
And if the Jays can't get Iannetta they'll try for the Angels' other backstop, Hank Conger. Iannetta, who's due $4.975 million in 2014 and $5.525 million in 2015, batted .225/.358/.372 with 11 homers and 39 RBI in 115 games this past season for Anaheim. Conger, who is still a pre-arbitration player, hit .249/.310/.403 with seven homers and 21 RBI in 92 games. Toronto wants to upgrade defensively from J.P. Arencibia.

Chris Iannetta singled in Kole Calhoun in the bottom of the 11th to give the Angels a 3-2 win over the Mariners on Friday.
Iannetta, who has been splitting time pretty evenly with Hank Conger for three months now, has hit .326 with four homers and eight RBI in 43 at-bats during September. It's going to be interesting to see what the Angels do with their catching situation next year. It looks like Conger will outhit Iannetta against righties going forward, but Iannetta is the better defender and he certainly deserves better than being on the wrong side of a platoon.

Chris Iannetta finished 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a double, and two runs scored Friday against the Astros.
Iannetta now has 10 home runs on the year. The 30-year-old has gone deep three times so far in September, his most in any month since April. Still, it's difficult to get too excited about him outside of deeper two-catcher mixed fantasy leagues.

Chris Iannetta went 2-for-3 in Sunday's loss to the Athletics.
It was his first multi-hit game since July 6. Iannetta is still batting just .215/.355/.346 in 72 games this season.

Chris Iannetta homered for the second consecutive game, helping to lead the Angels to a 5-2 victory over the Royals on Friday.
Iannetta finished the night 1-for-3 plus a walk. His sixth inning blast off Luke Hochevar tied the score at 2-2 and the Angels would never look back. While he's hitting just .205 on the season, he sports a terrific .366 OBP while blasting five homers and driving home 15 runs. He remains a decent option in deeper two-catcher formats.

Chris Iannetta went 1-for-2 with a walk against the White Sox on Thursday.
Iannetta is batting .202 with no power (three homers, .333 slugging) this year, but he's been getting on base plenty recently. Since May 5, Iannetta has drawn 10 walks in nine games to pump his OBP to .333. He's not a good fantasy player, and he likely won't be again playing in Angels Stadium, but Iannetta is an underrated catcher who isn't likely to lose his starting job.

Chris Iannetta is not in Friday's lineup against the Mariners.
Hank Conger will catch C.J. Wilson for the third straight time. Those in daily fantasy leagues should keep this arrangement in mind.

Chris Iannetta homered in the third and delivered a two-run single in the 13th to lead the Angels to a 3-1 win over the Reds on Monday.
Iannetta did all of the damage for the Angels. His homer was one of just three hits off Johnny Cueto. His single in the 13th came after Howie Kendrick was intentionally walked and pinch-hitter Hank Conger was hit by a J.J. Hoover pitch, loading the bases. Iannetta was one of the winter's rare bargains, signing a three-year, $15.55 million deal to stay with the Angels in October. He's not a great fantasy catcher, especially with Angels Stadium holding him down, but he's a truly underrated major leaguer.
