Iannetta is out of the lineup Tuesday versus the Marlins.

Iannetta's patient eye has been on display over the last 14 games, during which he's reached base in 12 separate outings. During that run, he's hit .250 (10-for-40) with six doubles, three RBI, eight runs scored, and 10 walks versus 10 strikeouts. In his stead, Hank Conger will cover the backstop and bat ninth in the order.

Iannetta is not in the lineup Wednesday vs. the Phillies.

After starting each of the last five games, Iannetta will give way to Hank Conger. Iannetta's .361 on-base percentage is outstanding by the standards of most catchers, but his rather empty contributions in traditional categories (.260 average, five homers, 32 RBI) minimize his rotisserie value.

Chris Iannetta went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer Saturday against the Blue Jays.

It was his third home run of the season and his first since April 16. With a .230/.370/.419 batting line through 22 games, Iannetta continues to provide value to the Angels with his ability get on base, but he's only worth using in two-catcher mixed fantasy leagues.

Chris Iannetta belted a walk-off 12th inning solo homer to propel the Angels to a 5-4 victory over the A's.

Iannetta's shot to dead center off Drew Pomeranz was nearly pulled back into the yard by Craig Gentry, but the ball grazed off the top of his glove at the apex of his leap. Iannetta finished 2-for-5 with two runs scored. Hits have been hard to come by, but Ianetta's offensive value has been salvaged some by six walks and five extra-base hits (against two singles). Chris Iannetta is not in the Angels' starting lineup Tuesday night against the Mariners.

Iannetta got the start in the Angels' season-opener on Monday, but it'll be Hank Conger in the second game of the year. Iannetta is expected to be the primary catcher in 2014, but the Angels also like Conger and that limits both of their value in standard fantasy leagues.

The 30-year-old backstop finished the day 1-for-2 plus a walk. He's had a tremendous spring to this point, slashing .346/.500/.731 with a pair of long balls and 10 RBI, and should once again begin the season as the Halos primary option behind the dish.

The lenses also helped him on the defensive end. Iannetta batted .211/.356/.347 in the first half of the 2013 season and .246/.362/.413 in the second half. The 30-year-old catcher should regain some fantasy value in 2014.

And if the Jays can't get Iannetta they'll try for the Angels' other backstop, Hank Conger. Iannetta, who's due $4.975 million in 2014 and $5.525 million in 2015, batted .225/.358/.372 with 11 homers and 39 RBI in 115 games this past season for Anaheim. Conger, who is still a pre-arbitration player, hit .249/.310/.403 with seven homers and 21 RBI in 92 games. Toronto wants to upgrade defensively from J.P. Arencibia.
