Chris Iannetta (wrist) is likely at least two weeks away from a return.

"Hopefully it's not weeks," Angels manager Mike Scioscia said, "but it's not day to day." Iannetta's rehab assignment was recently pushed back due to forearm tightness, and he resumed throwing Monday. It sounds like he probably won't begin an assignment until next week.

Chris Iannetta (wrist) took early batting practice Tuesday.

A good sign for Iannetta, who had the pisiform bone removed from his wrist on May 11. Barring any setbacks, he could rejoin the Angels' lineup by the end of the month.

Angels placed C Chris Iannetta on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to May 9, with a fractured right wrist.

Iannetta will undergo surgery on his right wrist Friday and is expected to miss 6-8 weeks. The Angels will cover the position from within for now, pairing Bobby Wilson with John Hester. Hank Conger (elbow) should be ready to help out in a couple weeks.

Chris Iannetta will undergo surgery on his right wrist Friday and is expected to miss 6-8 weeks.

Iannetta suffered the injury when he was hit on the wrist by a pitch on May 2, the same night he caught Jered Weaver's no-hitter. It's a tough blow for the Angels, who will now be without their primary catcher until late June or early July. Hank Conger is currently on the minor league disabled list, so Robinson Diaz or John Hester will likely be called up from Triple-A Salt Lake to split playing time with Bobby Wilson. Not much to get excited about from a fantasy perspective.

Chris Ianetta is not in the Angles lineup on Friday against the Blue Jays, due to lingering soreness and swelling in his right wrist from HBP Wednesday night.

This is the second consecutive day off for Iannetta, though it's general soreness in the wrist and doesn't sound like any issue with the bone. He's listed as day-to-day for now, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him back in the lineup on Saturday.
