Puig has still not driven in a run in August, but he does have four runs scored over his last four games. His back injury appears to be minor as he missed only one game.

Puig (back) is back in the Dodgers' lineup Monday, the L.A. Times' Dylan Hernandez reports.

Puig received what manager Don Mattingly described as a "day off" Sunday, but it was made known that Puig was also dealing with a sore back. However, the issue was apparently minor, and he'll patrol center field Monday against the Braves.

Dodgers manager Don Mattingly described Puig's absence Sunday as a day off but said that he does have a sore back, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

It sounds like the decision to hold Puig out for the finale against Milwaukee is largely precautionary, but he should still be considered day-to-day ahead of Monday's opener against Atlanta. Andre Ethier is starting in center field in his absence, with Carl Crawford in the two-hole against right-hander Jimmy Nelson.

Puig is out of the lineup Sunday against the Brewers, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

Puig has had a rough go of it at the plate so far this month, notching just seven hits in 32 at-bats, so manager Don Mattingly will go ahead and give the 23-year-old a day to sit back and observe. Andre Ethier is starting in center field with Carl Crawford batting second. A hamstring injury cost Puig a start back on Aug. 2, but he's looked spry in the field in recent days.

Yasiel Puig finished 4-for-5 and missed the cycle by a homer in Tuesday's 8-4 win against Atlanta.

You'll recall that Puig went 4-for-5 with three triples and a double on Friday. The center fielder ranks second in the National League in batting average (.318), slugging percentage (.545) and OPS (.949). He's on pace for 18 homers, 82 RBI and 89 runs.

Yasiel Puig went 4-for-5 and became the first player in four years to triple three times in a game Friday as the Dodgers topped the Giants 8-0.

The Twins' Denard Span was the last player with three triples in a game, doing so against the Tigers on June 29, 2010. The next to last was Rafael Furcal in 2002. Before that, it was Lance Johnson in 1995. So, obviously, it's a very rare feat. In fact, no Dodger had done it since at least 1901. Puig now has eight triples this year, leaving him two behind teammate Dee Gordon (who also had one tonight) for the major league lead.

He was forced to sit out four consecutive contests due to a bruised left hand, but was able to appear as a pinch-hitter in Wednesday's loss to the Pirates. He returns to a terrific .308/.398/.519 line with 12 homers and 52 RBI through his first 93 ballgames.

Yasiel Puig (hand) drew a walk as a pinch-hitter Wednesday in the Dodgers' loss to the Pirates.

Puig was held out of the Los Angeles starting lineup for a fourth straight game due to a bruise on his left hand. He took pregame batting practice and obviously felt good enough to pinch-hit, so his return should be imminent. The Dodgers are off on Thursday.

Yasiel Puig (hand) is not in the Dodgers' starting lineup on Wednesday against the Pirates.

It'll be the fourth straight game that Puig has missed. He took a Joe Kelly pitch off his left hand on Saturday and is still sore. Multiple X-rays have been taken and the results were negative. Puig remains day-to-day.
