Chen (13-4) gave up three runs on six hits with a walk and seven strikeouts Wednesday in a 4-3 victory over the White Sox.

Chen was powered by a Baltimore offense that hit three home runs Wednesday. The left-hander is now 6-1 dating back to July 3 and has allowed more than three runs only once over that span of eight starts. Chen will toe the rubber Tuesday versus the Rays.

Chen will start on normal rest Wednesday despite Baltimore's preference to give him extra rest, MASN Sports reports.

The Orioles just moved Ubaldo Jimenez out of the rotation and the extra rest thing is out the door unless Baltimore gets an off day. Extra rest appears to have been good for Chen as he has allowed one run or less in three of his last four starts.

Chen has allowed one run or less in three of his last four starts and he continues to be a quality start machine for the Orioles. He was pitching on three days extra rest because of a rain out during his last scheduled start Tuesday.

Chen will make his next start Friday against the Indians, MLB.com reports.

After his scheduled start Tuesday was rained out, Chen will wait a few more days until taking the hill. The O's will send Chris Tillman to the mound Wednesday, while Ubaldo Jimenez and Kevin Gausman will pitch Saturday and Sunday, respectively. Baltimore is off Thursday. In his last start, Chen allowed eight hits and four earned runs over 5.0 innings in a loss to the Blue Jays.

Chen's scheduled start Tuesday versus the Yankees has been postponed due to a rainout, Marly Rivera of ESPN Deportes reports.

Instead of fitting in a doubleheader Wednesday, the divisional rivals will delay the twin bill to Sept. 12, Eric Boland of Newsday reports. It's unclear if Chen will be skipped or push Tillman back in the rotation, but Chen boasts a 2.84 ERA, 1.105 WHIP, and 7.46 K/9 in 25.1 innings (four nods) since the break.

Chen dropped to 12-4 on Wednesday after lasting just five innings in which he allowed four runs on eight hits. He walked two, struck out six, and allowed a home run in the contest.

Chen gave up four singles and a walk in a two-run first inning, then served up a two-run home run to Jose Bautista in the second inning. The loss snapped Chen's streak of five straight wins while the four runs allowed were the most by him in over a month � he allowed five earned runs back on June 28. He'll look to get back in the win column when he takes on the Yankees in his next scheduled start.

Wei-Yin Chen blanked the Mariners for eight innings Thursday, combining with Darren O'Day on a five-hitter.

Chen fired seven shutout innings against the Red Sox back on June 11. Since then, he'd allowed three earned runs or more in five of six starts, and didn't surrender less than two in any. That stretch saw his ERA spike from 3.76 to 4.21. It's back down to 3.96, a number he'll defend against the Angels next week.

Wei-Yin Chen improved his record to 9-3, allowing three runs over 5 2/3 innings as the Orioles won by a 4-3 margin over the Nationals on Thursday.

Chen narrowly outpitched Gio Gonzalez and received just enough run support to eke out the victory. The lefty yielded eight hits without a walk while striking out six. Chen will go into the All-Star break carrying a 4.15 ERA, a 1.31 WHIP, and a 75/18 K/BB ratio.

Wei-Yin Chen earned his eighth win, allowing two runs over six innings as the Orioles wrapped up a 5-2 victory on Thursday.

Chen battled through a rainy evening in Baltimore, allowing six hits and walking two while striking out four. Chen is now 8-3 with a 4.12 ERA, a 1.30 WHIP, and a 69/18 K/BB ratio. He'll go up against the Nationals on the road in his next start.
