No word yet on the terms of the agreement. Harris, 33, batted .246/.351/.317 with two home runs and 23 RBI across 283 plate appearances last season for the Mets while playing all around the diamond defensively. He'll function as an active utilityman in 2012 for Cincinnati.

Andy Martino of the New York Daily News reports that the Mets haven't had any talks with free agent Willie Harris.

Mets general manager Sandy Alderson recently said that he was open to re-signing both Harris and Scott Hairston. While the club just agreed to a new deal with Hairston, it appears Harris may have to find an opportunity elsewhere. The 33-year-old batted .246/.351/.317 with two homers, 23 RBI and a .668 OPS over 126 games with the Mets in 2011.

William Ladson of MLB.com reports that the Nationals are considering bringing Willie Harris back.

The Nats are looking for a left-handed batter off the bench, and Harris fits the bill. The veteran outfielder batted .246/.351/.317 with two homers over 126 games with the Mets this past season.

Harris was placed on the bereavement list this week after his wife, Trey, lost her pregnancy at five months. Fernando Martinez will likely be sent back down to the minors upon his return.
