Martin is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Astros, according to Rangers VP of Comm. John Blake.

Martin tallied five hits over the last two games, but he will get a day off with left-hander Brett Oberholtzer on the bump for the Astros. Dan Robertson will get the start in center field in Martin's place.

Martin went 2-for-5 with a stolen base in Tuesday's loss to the Marlins.

Martin has picked up his offensive output in the last week, but it's only resulted in the speedster collecting two stolen bases during that time. The downturn in the Rangers' offense seems to have dampened Martin's season numbers, as he's well off his 2013 pace in stolen bases, runs and RBI despite posting a virtually identical triple-slash line.

Martin hit a solo home run in the second inning and added an RBI on a sacrifice fly in the fourth. Martin also hit his fourth triple of the season in the game, boosting his average up to .274 with a .725 OPS. Martin should continue to start almost every day going forward, and with an injury-riddled Rangers squad the 26-year-old will likely continue to get more RBI opportunities as he hits near the middle of the lineup as well.

Leonys Martin singled in Luis Sardinas in the top of the ninth Saturday to lead the Rangers past the Mariners 4-3.

It wasn't one of Martin's better swings, but it worked, as he snuck a ball down the third base line to plate the run against Fernando Rodney. Martin, who was batting leadoff for the third time this season, also had an earlier single and a walk in the game. He was 2-for-3 stealing bases. If he can hang on to the leadoff spot, he should be quite a bit more valuable in mixed leagues.

Leonys Martin's solo home run(his third of the year) off Tanner Roark in the seventh inning was all the offense the Rangers would need in its 2-0 win over the Nationals.

Martin, who owns a respectable .277/.325/.375 slash line, won't hit for much power, but with 11 stolen bases he still makes for a useful fantasy play.
