Matt Guerrier struck out a pair over two scoreless innings of relief Tuesday against the Rockies.

He entered the contest with just four punch outs, so last night's performance qualifies as an outburst. Guerrier used to be a holds machine for the Twins, but he's posted just 19 over the past three seasons for the Dodgers, four less than he had in his last year in Minnesota. An elbow injury cost the veteran most of last season. He owns a 3.45 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and ugly 6/6 K/BB rate over 18 appearances.

Dodgers activated RHP Matt Guerrier from the 15-day disabled list.

Guerrier hasn't pitched since the middle of May because of an elbow injury. The right-hander will be eased back into high-leverage situations and is doubtful to carry any fantasy value -- even in holds leagues.

Matt Guerrier felt lingering discomfort in his throwing elbow during a bullpen session Wednesday.

"It's very frustrating, so up and down and back and forth," Guerrier told MLB.com. "It feels good one day, the next day I can't play catch." He's planning to shut himself down until the pain is gone completely. The setup man seems unlikely to return to the Dodgers 'pen before July.
