Starling Marte went 1-for-4 with a run scored in the Pirates' defeat of the Cardinals on Wednesday.

Marte hit a leadoff triple off Cardinals starter Shelby Miller in the top of the first inning then came around to score on a bloop hit by Travis Snider. The young outfielder is now working on a cool 10-game hitting streak and boasts a superb .362/.393/.534 batting line over his first 61 plate appearances this season.

Starling Marte went 2-for-3 with a triple Wednesday in the Pirates' 5-4 defeat of the Blue Jays.

Marte is 11-for-27 this spring. He also has three triples, though those are his only extra-base hits. Still, this March isn't quite up to par with his last; he hit .520 with three homers in 25 at-bats before being sent down last year.

Starling Marte put his speed on full display in Friday's loss to the Orioles, going 2-for-2 with two runs scored and a pair of stolen bases.

Marte also walked in the game and was caught stealing once. Perhaps the most impressive thing to take away from his big night though, was his ability to remain patient and work the count. He battled back from 1-2 to single on the eighth pitch of his at-bat in the first inning, then worked Wei-Yin Chen for a six pitch walk in the third inning. He possesses a dynamic skill-set, and could quickly become an impact player in fantasy leagues if he can cut back on the strikeouts and make more consistent contact.

Starling Marte triple, walked and scored twice Wednesday against the Red Sox.

Marte made quite a name for himself while going 13-for-25 with three homers last spring. This year, he's off to a solid 6-for-17 start as the Pirates' probable left fielder and leadoff hitter. As a potential 15-homer, 30-steal guy, he projects as a very good fantasy outfielder.

Marte finished the night 3-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and two stolen bases. The impressive 23-year-old rookie outfielder is hitting .264/.307/.448 with five homers, 17 RBI and 12 stolen bases through his first 46 MLB contests. In all likelihood, he'll enter the 2013 campaign as the Bucs' opening day left fielder and leadoff hitter.

Starling Marte tripled and launched a solo homer in Monday's win over the Braves.

Marte was essentially all of the Pirates' offense, scoring on a groundout in the third and homering in the fifth in the 2-1 win. The soon-to-be 24-year-old was up and down during his 45 games with the big club, but he'll have a good shot to break camp with a starting job next spring.
